The present invention relates to a stent that uses a shape memory alloy wire, the stent being an expansion device installed on a part of a body lumen, which is constricted, or which has been constricted, so as to widen the passage of the lumen in response to the lesion part. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a stent using a shape memory alloy wire such that the stent maintains a high degree of conformability in a bent portion of a body lumen in which the same is inserted while substantially improving rigidness and durability against continuously applied fatigue, a stent manufactured thereby, and a jig for manufacturing the same.

The stent includes a hollow cylindrical body which is formed by weaving a superelastic shape-memory alloy wire in an overlapping manner such that rhombic openings are formed, and wing parts which are provided by expanding respective opposite ends of the hollow cylindrical body outwards and turning the opposite ends inside out on bent portions. The wing parts face each other so that the wing parts are tensed in a longitudinal direction of the cylindrical body. Thereby, the wing parts can elastically move inwards or outwards with respect to the longitudinal direction to automatically adjust a distance between the wing parts in response to the distance between the adjacent tissues of the organs or thicknesses of walls of the organs, so that the wing parts are put into close contact with the adjacent tissues.

This invention relates to a method of manufacturing a coating agent for a drug releasing stent and to a coating agent for a drug releasing stent manufactured thereby. This method includes (1) dissolving polyurethane in tetrahydrofuran, (2) dissolving pluronic F-127 in tetrahydrofuran, (3) dissolving a gemcitabine compound in ethanol, (4) mixing these three solutions obtained in (1) to (3) thus preparing a solution mixture, (5) applying the solution mixture obtained in (4) on a stent coated with a Teflon film, (6) drying the stent of (5) for a predetermined period of time and then immersing the stent in a polyurethane solution in tetrahydrofuran, and (7) removing the stent immersed in (6) from the polyurethane solution and then drying the stent, so that the rate of release of an anti-cancer drug applied on the stent can be continuously and maximally improved thereby maximizing anti-cancer efficacy.

A self-expandable shape memory alloy stent includes first and second wires made of super-elastic shape memory alloy. The first wire extends downwardly from the top to the bottom of the stent without interlocking with itself but extends upwardly from the bottom to the top of the stent while interlocking with itself to leave a multiplicity of rhombic spaces. Similarly, the second wire extends downwardly from the top to the bottom of the stent without interlocking with itself but extends upwardly from the bottom to the top of the stent while interlocking with itself, in such a manner as to divide the rhombic spaces formed by the first wire into four small rhombic spaces. The first wire and the second wire are woven with each other in such a manner that the second wire passes alternately below and above the first wire at intersection points.
