Abstract:
The invention relates to hollow balls having shells comprising a sintered inorganic material, such as metals, metal oxides or ceramic, and to methods for producing lightweight structural components using such hollow balls. According to the object of the invention, the application area is to be widened, processing to form structural components is to be made technologically simpler and the properties of the hollow balls and of the structural components produced therewith are to be improved for specific applications. For this purpose, an additional solid functional layer is formed on a shell on the hollow balls. The functional-layer material can then be made able to flow and plastically and/or elastically deformed as a result of a physical and/or chemical treatment.
Abstract:
Metal catalysts comprising hollow forms or spheres are made of metal alloy and optionally activated. The metal catalysts can be used for the hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, isomerization reductive alkylation, reductive amination, and/or hydration reaction of organic compounds.

Abstract:
A synchronizing ring including a bearing ring comprised of sintered steel; and a friction coating provided on thee bearing ring and composed of a friction material which is sintered and which includes a matrix which is iron-based, from 0.5 to 10 percent by weight molybdenum in relation to the weight of the matrix, and from 20 to 50 percent by volume of graphite as a solid lubricant.
Abstract:
A prefabricated animal bait containing a carrier substance and a pharmaceutically active substance, for example, a vaccine against rabies. The carrier substance contains a fat component and an additive to stabilize the shape retention of the bait, with both components being selected in such a manner that the mixture is pasty for processing and does not break in the temperature range in which it will be used. The bait is produced in such a manner that, in a deep-drawn mold, the carrier substance completely surrounds, and envelopes a pre-assembled unit of the active substance so that the bait merely needs to be pressed out of this carrier foil when it is to be used. Economical industrial production of prefabricated bait in a simple manner, easily and optimally adaptable to the respective animal species and its habitat with respect to temperature and moisture is provided. A particular simlification results from the use of fish meal as the additive since it simultaneously acts as a lure.
Abstract:
A device for collecting and filtering blood from a surgical site during an operation and returning the blood to the patient after further treatment in a separate treatment apparatus. The device includes a cylindrical container and a cover assembly with a correspondingly sized cover. An exapandable plastic pouch extends from the cover into the container. A filter screen is provided within the pouch to coarsely filter incoming blood. A compressed air source is connected to a suction pipe to produce a vacuum within the container. Collected blood may be drawn off by a hose within the pouch leading to a separate treatment device, or may be drained from the bottom of the pouch.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an anode assembly for electroplating comprising (a) an anode body comprising soluble anode material and (b) a shielding covering at least part of the anode body and comprising a self-passivating metal electrically connected to the anode body and allowing electrolyte transport therethrough. The shielding comprises at least one layer of self-passivating metal having no openings larger than 2 mm, preferably 1 mm, in width or the shielding comprises at least two layers of self-passivating metal wherein the openings of at least one layer are at least partially covered by the metal of another layer. The invention also relates to a shielded anode basket, a method for electroplating and the use of the anode assembly and the shielded anode basket.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a thermal insulation to be inserted between two structures, surfaces, walls or the walls of components which are to be insulated. The thermal insulation consists of an plurality of hollow spheres made up by loose hollow spheres or by hollow spheres which are interconnected by sintered contacts. The ratio of the outer diameter of the hollow spheres to their wall thickness is 5 300. The hollow spheres are made of silicides, silicide composites, metals and intermetals and the alloys thereof, ceramics or glass. When the walls of the hollow spheres have a closed porous structure, the inner pressure in the hollow spheres is between 0 to 0.1 that of the surrounding air pressure at room temperature.
Abstract:
An aqueous solution containing metal ions and sulfuric acid, especially a solution containing zinc ions, iron ions and/or copper ions, is placed for the cathodic precipitation of the metal ions into the anolyte chamber of an electrolysis cell divided by a cation exchanger membrane. Due to the voltage applied to the electrodes, metal ions and hydrogen ions migrate from the anolyte through the cation exchange membranes into the catholyte chamber and are there discharged, the sulfuric acid concentration in the anolyte being constantly elevated by anodic formation of protons. The regeneration can be used as an intermediate step of a chlorine gas-free regeneration of etching or extraction solutions.
Abstract:
In order to provide an annular combustion chamber (3) which can be heated without thermal distortion, expands without distortion, and is reliably closed, and for repairs can be opened and permanently closed again and can be reconditioned, the inner and/or outer shell (8, 7) of an annular combustion chamber (3) is produced from a rotationally symmetrical sheet metal. For assembly, the shells are cut open along a split line (16), and the lower half of the inner and of the outer shell (8, 7) is introduced into the lower casing half of a gas turbine. After the insertion of the rotor, the two upper shell halves can likewise be inserted and be connected to the lower halves by welding. In order to improve the service life of the split line weld seam (21), film cooling of the weld seam is routed by an indentation. This may be implemented, for example, by welded-in split line elements (15) which are also suitable for retrofitting.
