    摘要: A weldment for attaching mounting brackets and bases to electric motors includes an internal doubler element that is positioned within a motor shell and attached to the inner wall surface of the motor shell. A mounting bracket or base positioned on the outer wall surface of the motor shell is attached to the internal doubler element by a plug weld. The internal doubler element is positioned to increase the strength of the shell at critical stress areas. In addition to utilizing the internal doubler element, the mounting bracket is positioned to be aligned with and adjacent the lap weld seam of the motor shell.

    摘要: A terminal board assembly for a dynamoelectric machine includes a body, a switch device associated with the body and having a movable actuating lever. An enclosures overlays the switch device and includes a pair of at least partially overlapping cover segments associated with the body for extending in part in enclosing relation about the switch device. Aligned passages extend through the pair of cover segments for the extension therethrough of a part of the actuating lever exteriorly of the pair of cover segments. A movable seat strip spans the passages and is associated in sealing relation with the pair of cover segments and the actuating lever part for accommodating the movement of the actuating lever while maintaining the sealing relationship.

    摘要: A two compartment motor has a frame, a pair of end shields disposed adjacent opposing ends of the frame to define a first compartment, a stator winding supported by the frame within the first compartment, an armature rotatably supported by the end shields and disposed within the first compartment adjacent the stator winding, a cover mounted to the motor adjacent one of the end shields to define a second compartment between the cover and the end shield, and a control plate mounted within the second compartment. The control plate serves as a mounting surface for securing a plurality of electrical components used in the control and operation of the motor in position within the second compartment. The control plate is a molded plastic component having integrally formed mounting mechanisms for at least one of the electrical components. The electrical components may include a starting capacitor, voltage and/or speed control switches, an overload device and electrical terminals. Ventilation openings, lead openings and shields may also be integrally formed in the control plate. The plate may be provided with recesses to accommodate electrical connectors, a centrifugal switch and other components. A method of assembling the motor includes mounting the plurality of components to the control plate to form a sub-assembly prior to connecting this sub-assembly to the other components of the motor.

The assembly including a switch actuator having at least one slot therein, a switch arm support having an elongate channel and a switch actuator accommodating distal portion, and at least two switch arms having contacts thereon. To practice this method, the actuator is disposed along the distal portion, and one of the switch arms secured to the support is positioned along the elongate channel in overlaying relation with the actuator so as to be laterally confined by the actuator slot. Another of the switch arms secured to the support is positioned in overlaying essentially parallel relation with the one switch arm so as to be laterally confined by the actuator slot.

    摘要: In a method of assembling a dynamoelectric machine, a set of pads on a terminal board are inserted into assembly positions in engagement with a set of slots in one end of a housing for the dynamoelectric machine, and the pads are in part overlaid with the housing about the slots therein. The terminal board is positioned in a preselected position therefor within the housing, and a peripheral portion of the terminal board is disposed at least generally adjacent the housing therewithin when the pads are in their assembly positions. An end frame is mounted in an assembly on the housing in engagement with the one end thereof so as to retain the pads against displacement from the assembly positions thereof past the one end of the housing.A dynamoelectric machine, methods of assembling a switch device with a means for supporting it, and a terminal board assembly are also disclosed.

    摘要: A two-speed single phase motor of the capacitor-start type is disclosed wherein the motor is switched from the start condition to the run condition by means of a single contact centrifugally actuated switch. The motor comprises high speed and low speed main windings and a start winding employed in both the high speed and low speed configurations. A single pole single throw centrifugally actuated switch connected to the rotor has a single contact pair which opens when the motor exceeds a predetermined speed, and the same contact pair is used in both the high speed and low speed configurations. A relay comprising a coil in series with the centrifugal switch contacts has a pair of normally open contacts in series with the start capacitor so that when the centrifugal switch contacts open and interrupt the flow of current through the relay coil, the relay contacts will open thereby disconnecting the start capacitor from the circuit. A double throw selector switch having a high speed position and an alternative low speed position connects the centrifugal switch contacts and the relay coil in series either with the low speed main winding or the high speed main winding so that the low speed winding is disconnected upon reaching run conditions when the selector switch is in the high speed position, and the high speed main winding is disconnected upon reaching run conditions when the selector switch is in the low speed position. A run capacitor may be connected in series with the start winding, preferably in parallel with the start capacitor and the relay contacts.
