Abstract:
The present invention relates on a non-invasive method for diagnosing prostate cancer and/or assessing the risk of a subject acquiring prostate cancer comprising the analysis of the expression of the marker gene hepsin in an urine sample. It further relates on a non-invasive method for diagnosing prostate cancer and/or assessing the risk of a subject acquiring prostate cancer by determining the expression levels of the marker genes hepsin, EZH2, prostein and PCA3.
Abstract:
A process for producing a tissue transplant construct for reconstructing a human or animal organ. The process may include the steps of: (a) isolation and two-dimensional cultivation of organ-specific tissue cells; (b) application of the organ-specific tissue cells to a biocompatible, collagen-containing membrane; and, (c) cultivation of the organ-specific tissue cells on the membrane with biochemical and mechanical stimulation of the organ-specific tissue cells. Tissue transplant constructs and methods for using tissue transplant constructs are also taught.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a tissue transplant construct for the reconstruction of a human or animal organ. Here said tissue transplant construct is intended to comprise(a) a biocompatible acellular membrane and (b) microvascular endothelial cells which penetrate the membrane, wherein microvascular structures of microvascular endothelial cells are formed within the membrane.
Abstract:
A supporting and drive belt including a belt body or sheathing which encloses tensile carriers. The running surface of the belt can be flat and parallel to the belt back or have trapezium-shaped or semicircular ribs and grooves, wherein the profile of a drive pulley or of a deflecting pulley is approximately complementary to the running surface of the belt. One or more tensile carriers are provided for each rib, wherein the tensile carriers are laid or stranded alternately in the “Z” direction and the “S” direction.
Abstract:
In an elevator installation, an apparatus and a method use a support end connection for fastening a support device to an elevator car, a counterweight and/or a building. The support device has at least one cable or cable strand enclosed by a cable casing and is held in a wedge pocket by a wedge. The cable casing is formed of thermoplastic material or an elastomer and the cable or the cable strand is glued to, fused together with or mechanically connected with the cable casing in the region of the support end connection. A friction force transmitted from the support end connection to the cable casing can then be directly passed on to the load-bearing core of the support device, to the cables or to the cable strands. The tolerable tension force in the support device is increased. The support device is preferably a multiple cable.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a tissue transplant construct for the reconstruction of a human or animal organ, where the tissue transplant construct comprises: a) a biologically compatible, collagen-containing membrane, and b) one or more layers of organ-specific tissue cells on the membrane, and where the outermost layer of the organ-specific tissue cells is a layer of terminally differentiated organ-specific tissue cells.

Abstract:
A synthetic fiber cable has the strands of a strand layer mutually spaced apart. With the mutual spacing, the strands of the outer strand layer can move radially in the direction of the cable center and exert a radial pressure on the strands of the first inner strand layer. The radial pressure is passed on from the strands of the first inner strand layer to the strands of the second inner strand layer. The radial pressure is passed on from the strands of the second inner strand layer to the core strand. The radial pressure increases inwardly from strand layer to strand layer. The soft cable sheathing does not act as a support between the strands in circumferential direction.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to polynucleotides directed towards a gene of a catalytic subunit of human telomerase, as well as to the use of said polynucleotides for the diagnosis, prophylaxis, reduction and follow-up of diseases associated with cell growth, differentiation and/or division, such as tumor diseases.
