摘要: An antenna device has a substrate having a first surface and a second surface on the opposite side of the first surface, a first-surface-side conductive layer formed on the first surface of the substrate, a second-surface-side conductive layer formed on the second surface of the substrate, and through hole conductors connecting the first-surface-side conductive layer and the second-surface-side conductive layer. The first-surface-side conductive layer and the second-surface-side conductive layer are formed such that the first-surface-side conductive layer and the second-surface-side conductive layer are connected via the through hole conductors in a crank form from the first surface to second surface of the substrate.

摘要: A remote control system and a remote control apparatus allow a human operator to remotely control a mobile body easily even if the system uses a low-speed communications link. The remote control system includes a remote control apparatus, in which a CPU selects old information based on both old information and the latest mobile body information from a mobile body, and determines a virtual view point V. The CPU generates a three-dimensional environmental image K and the virtual view point V based on the selected old information, and also generates a mobile body model M, a reference point B and a clipping center point based on the latest mobile body information and data regarding a mobile body model M, in a global coordinate system GC. The CPU calculates an angle of view based on a distance d between the virtual viewpoint V and the reference point B, makes a perspective projection of the three-dimensional environmental image K and the mobile body model M from the virtual view point V toward the clipping center point to obtain a projected image, makes a clip from the projected image based on the angle of view thereby making a composite image, and converts the composite image into a display image of a predetermined size. The resulting display image is displayed on a monitor.

The first substrate has an electrical wiring circuit, an electrical-optical converter for converting an electrical signal to an optical signal, and a light emitting device for emitting a light. The second substrate has an electrical wiring circuit, an optical-electrical converter for converting the optical signal to the electrical signal, and a light receiving device for receiving the light from the light emitted device. The optical waveguide optically connects the light emitting and light receiving devices. The electrical wiring electrically connects the electrical wiring circuits of the first and second substrates. The switching device determines a fast signal of data to be transmitted via the optical substrate and a slow signal of data to be transmitted via the electrical wiring.

摘要: A method and structures for protectively enclosing and sealing optoelectronic modules having emitter or detector diode arrays aligned with optical fiber facets in optoelectronic transmitters and receivers. A non-hermetic enclosure provides mechanical protection of the components during alignment and assembly of the module. A substantially hermetic enclosure provides additional protection of optoelectronic components against airborne contaminants or moisture. The protective enclosures physically encompass the diode array chip with its delicate wire bonds and also provide a liquid containment dam for easier application of resin for protective encapsulation of the diode array chip. Dual resin encapsulation may include a first resin layer chosen for transparency and a harder setting covering layer. These protective variants can be implemented in different combinations offering varying degrees of protection of the optical components.

摘要: The present invention comprises a compound cavity in which a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser and external mirror are combined, and the change in intensity of a laser beam or in mirror loss is detected by the detection unit. The detection unit includes a photodetector for directly detecting a variation in intensity of a laser beam, and PN junction potential difference detecting device for detecting a variation in mirror loss created due to a relative displacement between the external mirror and the vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser, based on a change in carrier density within the surface-emitting laser. The phase of the laser beam returning from the external mirror is determined by a relative displacement between the external mirror and the vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser, and the laser beam output varies at a period of a displacement amount corresponding to 1/2 of the wavelength of the laser beam. Such a displacement amount is calculated by the counting device and the operation device.
