Abstract:
A composition comprising (A) at least one bisphenol-A polycarbonate resin, (B) at least one polypropylene, preferably a high crystallinity polypropylene, (C) at least one compatibilizer comprising an amine functionalized elastomeric polymer, (D) at least one organic phosphate flame retardant, preferably an organic phosphate that is liquid at room temperature, and, optionally, (E) one or more additives. These compositions are useful in the manufacture of wire insulation coatings of less than 0.2 mm with good scrape abrasion resistance.
Abstract:
The viscosity or relative viscosity of samples can be measured in parallel by dispensing or aspirating the samples at a set condition and then measuring a property of the sample such as mass dispensed or aspirated.

The present disclosure is directed to a halogen-free composition and conductors coated with the halogen-free composition. The halogen-free composition includes (A) from 70 wt % to 85 wt % of a polymeric component and (B) from 30 wt % to 15 wt % of a halogen-free flame retardant. The polymeric component (A) includes (i) a propylene homopolymer or a mini-random copolymer with greater than 40% crystallinity and (ii) an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer. The halogen-free composition has a density less than 1.15 g/cc. The halogen-free composition also has a scrape abrasion resistance of greater than or equal to 350 cycles as measured in accordance with ISO 6722.
Abstract:
The invention is a device for processing materials comprising a mixing chamber having a valve for removal of the material from the mixing chamber and a piston which fits within the mixing chamber in a manner such that the piston can be moved to remove substantially all material from the mixing chamber via the valve; at least one, preferably at least two, retractable mixing element(s) wherein each of such elements is movable in and out of the mixing chamber through a port wherein the element and port are configured such that during mixing and when the element is withdrawn from the mixing chamber substantially no material is removed from the mixing chamber via the port. The invention is also a method of using such a device and a system comprising use of such devices in an automated or partially automated array.
Abstract:

Abstract:
There are disclosed carbonate polymers of dihydroxyaryl fluorene having crosslinkable moieties. There are also disclosed such polymers in the form of composites. The polymers of this invention are capable of being crosslinked by activation of the crosslinkable moieties. Once crosslinked, these polymers demonstrate an excellent combination of properties including resistance to melting at high temperatures, solvent resistance, optical clarity, impact resistance, and physical strength.

Abstract:
The invention provides, in one aspect, a parallel heat treatment device, including an inner heating chamber defined at least in part by a plurality of heating plate assemblies, each of the plurality of heating plate assemblies including a pair of separate and spaced heating plates. At least one heating element is disposed between each of the pair of heating plates. A test plate is disposed within the inner heating chamber, the test plate being sized and shaped to receive a plurality of sample pans and samples and a temperature controlled support plate is positioned underneath the test plate.
