To provide a material which is useful as a belt for tire and a carcass material.[Means to Solve]A polyester fiber and fiber cord comprising a copolymerized polyester is impregnated with a compound having at least two unsaturated bonds, and is irradiated with electronic ray or γ-ray, whereby the compound causes a cross-linking reaction in the inner area and surface layer of the polyester fiber and fiber cord, which results in a fiber and fiber cord having an excellent heat resistance.
