摘要: A seal plate of a cylindrical battery has an outer peripheral portion, which is at least partly fixed to an opening of an outer can, and an annular thin portion adjacent to the outer peripheral portion. The thin portion has a sloping portion sloping radially inward toward the bottom of the outer can in an axial direction. In a cross section of the thin portion taken in a plane including the radial direction and the axial direction, an inner surface of an adjacent portion adjacent to the outer peripheral portion of the thin portion has a curved shape, and the gradient of an outer surface of the thin portion changes towards the outer peripheral portion so as to decrease the thickness of the adjacent portion.

摘要: A fuse element of a SCP is reliably fusion-cut with a simple circuit configuration to interrupt an electric current. In a power supply equipped with a battery unit, a control circuit (7) is configured to control turning on and off of a switch (6) configured to connect the SCP (3) which is connected in series to a battery unit (1) and is configured to interrupt charge and discharge currents in an abnormal state. Battery unit 1 includes battery cells (2) connected in series to one another. The SCP (3) includes fuse element 4 connected in series to an output end of the battery unit (1), and a heater (5) configured to fusion-cut the fuse element (4). The switch (6) includes switching elements (10) each of which has one terminal connected to the heater (5) and another terminal connected to a corresponding one of different-voltage terminals (11) of the battery unit 1. In control circuit (7), a selection circuit (9) is configured to select, according to the voltage detected by the voltage detection circuit (8), a switching element (10) to be turned on, and the switching element (10) which is turned on connects the battery unit (1) to the heater (5) to fusion-cut the fuse element (4).

摘要: A power supply device with enhanced safety is provided. A power supply device (100) includes secondary battery cells (1) each including a positive electrode (2) including a safety valve on one end surface of each cell, a battery holder holding the secondary battery cells (1) each including the positive electrode (2) on the one end surface thereof, and a housing (20) having a bottom surface (22), a top surface (23), and an inner space which accommodates the battery holder therein. The battery holder holds the secondary battery cells (1) upright in parallel to one another such that the positive electrode (2) on the one end surface of each cell (1) is directed vertically downward. In the housing (20), the battery holder retains the positive electrode (2) of each cell (1) spaced apart from the bottom surface (22) across a first space (SP1). In the above structure, the first space (SP1) between the positive electrode (2) of the secondary battery cell (1) and the bottom surface (22) is used as a space for discharging gas when the gas is discharged from the safety valve. In addition, when the power supply device (100) is submerged or exposed to water, the first space (SP1) keeps the positive electrode (2) spaced apart from the bottom surface (22) where water tends to accumulate, thereby enhancing safety.
