    摘要: A security device includes an optically variable device (OVD) having diffraction-based micro-optics including at least one moiré magnified visual representation of a micro-object. A diffractive structure provides micro-objects with unique optical effects when the OVD is viewed through the micro-object structure from a predetermined relative observation point. In addition to magnifying the micro-objects, the diffractive structure can impart optical effects such as change in observed color, enhanced contrast, animation of the observed visual representation, and change in size or shape of the observed visual representation. The micro-objects and the diffractive structure can be disposed on the same or different portions of a substrate. A method of making OVDs, and an article employing such OVDs are also disclosed.

    摘要: An integrated system and method to achieve ESD robustness on an integrated circuit (IC) in a fully automated ASIC design environment is described. Electrical characteristics and electrical limits on the power network are translated to power route region constraints for each chip input/output (I/O) cell. Electrical limits on the signal network are translated into signal route region constraints for each chip I/O cell. These constraints are passed on to an I/O floorplanner (automatic placer of I/O cells) that analyzes trade-offs between these constraints. For I/O cells that can not be placed to satisfy both power and signal region constraints, the I/O floorplanner utilizes the knowledge of alternative power distribution structures to group I/Os and create local power grid structures that have the effect of relaxing the power region constraints. Instructions for creating these local power grid structures are passed on to the automatic power routing tool.

    摘要: A multi-channel wavelength monitor is described that includes a dispersive element that is positioned in an optical path of an incident optical beam having a plurality of wavelengths. The dispersive element disperses the optical beam into a plurality of optical beams that simultaneously propagate in a plurality of optical paths, where each of the plurality of optical beams has one of the plurality of wavelengths. An optical filter is positioned to intercept each of the plurality of optical paths at a plurality of locations. The optical filter substantially passes a respective one of the plurality of optical beams at a respective one of the plurality of locations and substantially blocks the other optical beams. A plurality of optical detectors is positioned adjacent to the optical filter in a direction of propagation of the plurality of optical beams. A respective one of the plurality of optical detectors is positioned in a respective one of the plurality of optical paths. Each of the plurality of detectors generates an electrical signal that is proportional to an intensity of a respective one of the plurality of optical beams.

Also included is an optical modulator for receiving the optical beam from the interface optics and for providing a modulated optical beam in response to received modulation signals. The optical modulator is coupled to the interface optics to be in a fixed relationship therewith.
