Abstract:
A method for producing a run-in coating for a turbomachine for braking a rotor in the event of a shaft breakage, the run-in coating being formed as an integral, generative blade portion during a generative manufacture of a blade. A run-in system having an abradable ring that is configured circumferentially on a blade row and has a chamber-type material structure. Abstract:
A gas turbine including at least one compressor, one combustion chamber, and at least one turbine including at least one rotor and at least one generator coupled to the at least one rotor is provided. The at least one turbine is coupled to the at least one compressor. Once the gas turbine is shut down, the at least one generator can be used as a motor in order to drive the at least one rotor for a predetermined time period following shutdown of the gas turbine and thereby effect a uniform cooling of the rotor. A method of operating a gas turbine is also provided.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an operating panel arrangement, in particular for domestic appliances such as washing machines and tumble dryers. An operating panel has formed on its outside actuating sections and display sections for operating or monitoring purposes. An electrical circuit arrangement is coupled to the actuating sections and the display sections and is arranged in the region of the inside of the operating panel. In this case, the circuit arrangement has at least three electrodes, which are arranged in a manner distributed approximately parallel to the operating panel. The circuit arrangement has evaluation means which are designed to calculate the spatial position of an operating means in relation to the position of the three electrodes, to be precise by evaluating the fields between the electrodes and the operator. The actuating sections can be freely defined as positions of the operating means in the region of the outside of the operating panel.
Abstract:
A method and system for identifying and configuring device-enhanced memory modules at system startup is described. A driver is described that performs a wakeup procedure at startup to identify installed device-enhanced memory modules, detect memory implementations such as interleaving and striping on memory modules, detect error detection and correction (ECC) implementations, and to configure the identified device-enhanced memory modules to use the detected implementations. The method may include several phases including, but not limited to, a start block phase, an ECC configuration phase, an ECC check phase, an interleave detect and configuration phase, a buffer check phase, and a final configuration phase. One or more of the phases may be performed at system startup and/or during normal system operation. Methods for shutting down and providing a sleep mode for device-enhanced memory modules are also described.
Abstract:
An memory module including parallel data compression and decompression engines for improved performance. The memory module includes MemoryF/X Technology. To improve latency and reduce performance degradations normally associated with compression and decompression techniques, the MemoryF/X Technology encompasses multiple novel techniques such as: 1) parallel lossless compression/decompression; 2) selectable compression modes such as lossless, lossy or no compression; 3) priority compression mode; 4) data cache techniques; 5) variable compression block sizes; 6) compression reordering; and 7) unique address translation, attribute, and address caches. The parallel compression and decompression algorithm allows high-speed parallel compression and high-speed parallel decompression operation. The memory module-integrated data compression and decompression capabilities remove system bottlenecks and increase performance. This allows lower cost systems due to smaller data storage, reduced bandwidth requirements, reduced power and noise.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a construction kit made of concrete paving stones comprising substantially prismatic stone bodies of a uniform height and upright lateral surfaces. A plurality of stone paving stones (2) arranged in rows and having the same width in addition to the same or different lengths can be placed manually or placed by means of a machine with continuous or offset joints in said joint areas. A plurality of rows of paving stones that are arranged next to each other in a parallel position is used to form a rectangular or square packet that can be placed using a machine. The paving stones (2) have side surfaces (4) which have head pieces (2′) that are defined by a wavy line along part of their height and base pieces (2″) in sections, comprising domed areas (5) or projections jutting out laterally in relation to the head pieces (2′) extending along another part of their height. When the packets are assembled for placement in the vicinity of the end stones that make up a row of paving stones, they form a line of continuous joints or provide substantially winding-shaped joints (7) if so desired by replacing different sized end stones from adjacent packets that have been moved towards each other.

The invention relates to a stack-holding member with ring or disk shaped parts having a radial opening, such as lock rings and the like, which are arranged on a stack-holding member inserted in the inner space of the stack of rings, the stack-holding member supporting the rings, with play, and orienting the rings in the same direction so that the rings may be easily removed from or added to the stack.
Abstract:
In connection with a machine for the treatment of laundry, in particular a washing-machine or drier, comprising weight sensors for automatic measurements of the weight of the laundry and subsequent determination of the quantities of treatment agents to be filled in (water, detergents, or the like), for determining the relative humidity content, for detecting and removing imbalance conditions, it is proposed to arrange a decoupling frame between an outer housing resting on a stationary supporting surface, and the entire inner system of the washing-machine or dryer, including the lye tank with drum and other partial components, the decoupling frame being itself resiliently suspended in the outer housing and supporting all the other components, and to provide weight sensors, preferable resistance strain gauges, which coact with the resilient suspension of the decoupling frame.
