Abstract:
A thermal barrier configured to be rolled and unrolled while providing a thermal value of greater than about R=3. The thermal barrier comprises multiple layers including a first layer comprising a fiber mesh core and material selected from the group comprising: polyurethane, rubber, and polyvinylchloride, a second layer bonded to the first layer, the second layer comprising material selected from the group comprising: polyolefin foam, polyurethane foam and rubber based foam, and a third layer bonded to the second layer, the third layer comprising a thin film or fabric material selected from the group comprising: polyester, polyolefin, polyurethane and nylon, wherein the first layer has a greater length along the linear dimension than the second layer and the third layer.
Abstract:
An overhead roll-up door assembly having a door controller, a door panel and a drum on which the door panel is wound and unwound to open and close a doorway, opening and closing of the door being controlled by the controller. The door assembly includes a safety system comprising at least one light, the at least one light being positioned to emit light proximate a first side of the doorway, the light from the at least one light being projected onto a lower boundary of the doorway and forming a strip or stripe proximate the first side of the doorway, wherein emission of the light from the at least one light is controlled by the controller in conjunction with the controller opening and closing the doorway.
Abstract:
A safety curtain and system includes multiple light emitters and multiple light receivers to detect traffic approaching a doorway. The safety curtain may include pairs of multiple light emitters and receivers positioned on both sides of a passageway (doorway) so as to detect approaching traffic. The multiple light emitters and light receivers may detect a height of an approaching traffic (e.g., person or vehicle) and initiate warning lights of a possible door closing. The detected approach of traffic may cause the door to be stopped, reversed or slow down. The system may include a computer to monitor the signals from the receivers and may control the motion of the door.

Abstract:
A door panel for an overhead roll-up door assembly having a first face, a second face, a top edge, and a bottom edge. The door panel is constructed by butt jointing at least two sub-panels together in a horizontal direction such that neither sub-panel overlaps the other and applying at least one strip of seaming material over each horizontal butt joint, the seaming material being adhered over each butt joint on at least the first face of the door panel. The door panel further includes at least one strip of seaming material adhered vertically along at least one face of the door panel extending from approximately the top edge of the door panel to approximately the bottom edge of the door panel, and being configured such that a top face of the vertical seaming material is substantially co-planar with a top face of the horizontal seaming material.
Abstract:
A door assembly including a vertically moving door to permit and prohibit access through an opening which has a top, a bottom defined by a floor, and at least two sides, the door assembly. The assembly having a door body having upper and lower portions, and being mounted proximate the opening such that the lower end portion being proximate the floor when the door is in the closed position. A protective body is configured in connection with the door so as to be moveable between a first position under at least a portion of the door body lower portion when the door is in at least a partially open position and a second storage position. The protective body having at least one debris collecting surface, and opposing ends, the protective body being configured such that debris collected on the debris collecting surface will be urged toward one of the opposed ends.

Abstract:
A wind lock for an overhead roll-up door, the wind lock having a first edge which is substantially straight and capable of extending substantially perpendicular vertically from a face of a door panel to which the wind lock attaches to, the wind lock including a second edge having an angled-beveled face, wherein the second edge extends at an angle from the first edge laterally across the face of an attached door panel is beveled with the face of the door panel so as to extend vertically from the face at an angle.
