摘要: A vehicle cooling package has a fan shroud mounted to a heat exchanger assembly. A diverter plate is mounted adjacent to the shroud and spaced therefrom with a fan interposed therebetween. A diverting surface of the shroud and the diverter plate are angled from the axis of the fan when the shroud and plate are assembled to the vehicle. A vehicle hood has upper and side surfaces each having air discharge apertures corresponding with the space between the diverting surface and the diverter plate when the hood is closed. The diverting surface and the diverter plate both extend fully to the hood assembly when the hood is closed. The angles of the diverting surface and the diverter plate closely match a natural discharge angle of the fan, so that air is discharged from the fan at a high velocity from under the hood through the air discharge apertures.

摘要: The invention relates to an air diverter for a vehicle cooling system. There is a need for an improved vehicle cooling system. An air diverter is provided for a vehicle cooling system having a radiator, a fan for moving air through the radiator and a cooling unit positioned in front of the radiator with respect to air moving through the radiator. The fan is surrounded by a fan shroud. The air diverter includes a collector and a conduit. The collector is positioned between the cooling unit and the radiator. The collector receives a portion of air which passes through the cooling unit. The conduit extends around an edge of the radiator and communicates air from the collector to the interior of the fan shroud while bypassing the radiator.

摘要: A vehicle engine cooling system includes a primary cooling circuit having a primary radiator and a coolant pump. A secondary cooling circuit includes a secondary radiator, an EGR cooler, and a liquid/air charge air pre-cooler receiving engine inlet air from a turbocharger compressor. The coolant pump circulates coolant through the EGR cooler, through the charge air pre-cooler, and through the primary and secondary radiators. A fan blows cooling air through the primary and secondary radiators. The secondary radiator is downstream of the primary radiator in the fan airflow. The cooling system also includes an air-to-air charge air cooler which receives engine inlet air from the liquid/air charge air pre-cooler. The air-to-air charge air cooler is upstream of the primary radiator with respect to flow of cooling air. The cooling system also includes an auxiliary engine fluid cooler which is located between the air-to-air charge air cooler and the primary radiator.

摘要: An agricultural tractor having a rear suspension with draft compensating geometry to control the compression or extension of the rear suspension in response to a draft load. The draft compensating suspension enables the tractor hitch to be mounted on the suspended frame or chassis of the tractor rather than mounting the hitch to a non-suspended beam axle or locking out the suspension during draft work. The draft load is applied to the chassis by a ground engaging implement. The tractive load and torque at the rear wheels are reacted through the side view instantaneous center of the rear suspension. The placement of the instantaneous center will determine the suspension reaction to the wheel load and torque. Locating the suspension instantaneous center on a line of 100% draft-compensation will eliminate the motion of the suspension due to the draft load. If the instantaneous center is located below the 100% draft-compensation line, the suspension will compress under a draft load. If the instantaneous center is located above the 100% draft-compensation line, the suspension will extend under a draft load. The distance between the instantaneous center and the 100% draft compensation line will determine the amount of compression or extension of the suspension.

摘要: A fan system includes a rotatable axial flow fan unit, a fan shroud unit adjacent to the fan unit and capable of surrounding at least a portion of an outer periphery of the fan unit; and an actuator coupled to one of the units and operable to move said one of the units with respect to the other of the units, thereby varying immersion of the fan unit within the shroud unit. The actuator may be coupled to the shroud unit and is operable to move the shroud unit with respect to the fan unit. A control unit controls the actuator to vary fan immersion as a function of sensed parameter signals, and thereby maximizes fan efficiency.

摘要: A fuel supply circuit for a Diesel engine includes fuel injectors, a fuel tank, a main pump for delivering fuel to the injectors, and a variable flow charge pump for delivering fuel from the tank to an inlet of the main pump, and a surplus fuel line communicating unburned fuel from the injectors to an inlet of the charge pump. The circuit also includes a temperature sensor which senses a temperature of fuel discharged by the charge pump, and a pressure sensor which senses a pressure of fuel discharged by the charge pump. A bleed line communicates fuel from an outlet of the charge pump to the tank. A solenoid operated bleed valve and a pressure relief valve control flow through the bleed line. An electronic control unit controls the charge pump and the bleed valve as a function of the sensed parameters.

摘要: An internal combustion engine includes an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. The EGR system includes an air-to-gas EGR cooler, an air inlet line communicating cooling inlet air to the EGR cooler, an EGR supply line communicating exhaust to the EGR cooler, a venturi in the exhaust circuit, and an air outlet line communicating heated air from the EGR cooler to the venturi. Flow of exhaust through the venturi draws cooling air through the EGR cooler. The EGR system also includes a turbocharger having an exhaust turbine and an inlet air compressor. A compressor outlet circuit communicates air from the compressor to an engine air intake. A valve is located in the compressor outlet circuit. An EGR venturi in the compressor outlet circuit is connected in parallel with the valve. A cooled EGR line communicates cooled exhaust from the EGR cooler to a suction port of the EGR venturi.
