摘要: A flexible converter interface for interfacing with ADCs or DACs. The flexible converter interface may be comprised in a data acquisition device and may be a programmable ADC interface or a programmable DAC interface. The flexible converter interface may be programmed with a converter type parameter, a converter resolution parameter, and a converter data type parameter, among others, to interface with various types of ADCs or DACs and to allow for future expandability. The flexible converter interface may function as either a programmable parallel converter interface or a programmable serial converter interface depending upon the programmed converter type parameter. Additionally, functions associated with I/O pins corresponding to the flexible converter interface may vary depending upon the programmed converter resolution parameter and the programmed converter type parameter. Furthermore, the flexible converter interface may perform a data conversion operation on ADC or DAC data depending upon the programmed converter data type parameter.

摘要: A system for executing a multimodal software application includes a mobile computer device with a plurality of input interface components, the multimodal software application, and a dialog engine in operative communication with the multimodal software application. The multimodal software application is configured to receive first data from the plurality of input interface components. The dialog engine executes a workflow description from the multimodal software application by providing prompts to an output interface component. Each of these prompts includes notification indicating which of the input interface components are valid receivers for that respective prompt. Furthermore, the notification may indicate the current prompt and at least the next prompt in sequence.

摘要: A speech-directed system for doing tasks utilizing human speech includes a headset including a microphone for capturing user speech from a user and a speaker for playing audio to a user. A speech recognition component is resident on the headset and operable for converting the user speech to data in a data format. A WPAN radio component is resident on the headset and is configured for converting the user speech data from the data format into a protocol format. A host device is configured with a WPAN radio component for transceiving user speech data with the headset in the protocol format. A long range wireless network component that is resident on the host device couples with at least one remote device through a long range wireless network. The host device is operable for transceiving the user speech data with the remote device.

摘要: A printed circuit board includes a first layer including a groove formed therein. The groove extends between opposing face surfaces. A second layer is coupled with one face surface of the first layer. The second layer includes a through hole in communication with the groove of the first layer. A third layer is coupled to other face surface of the first layer opposite the second layer. Portions of the second and third layers cooperate with the groove and forming a cavity with an opening at the edge of the board. The cavity is accessible through the through hole of the second layer. A printed circuit board includes multiple layers which are coupled together. A wire is electronically coupled to the printed circuit board by being inserted into the cavity with solder applied via the through hole. An alternative embodiment utilizes two layers to define the board and cavity.

摘要: A system and method for buffering bidirectional digital I/O lines. The system (e.g., data acquisition system) may comprise a device including circuitry for buffering bidirectional digital lines. A first IC of the device preferably includes a first and a second bidirectional buffer coupled to a first bidirectional digital I/O line, and a second IC of the device preferably includes a third bidirectional buffer. The first IC and the second IC may also each include a control unit to control a driving direction of the corresponding bidirectional buffers independently to change the direction of a data flow through the first bidirectional digital I/O line from a first direction to a second direction. The driving direction of the bidirectional buffers may be changed at different times in a particular sequence, and the order may depend on whether the direction change is from the output direction to the input direction or vice versa.
