摘要: A vehicle headlamp includes a light source, a reflector, a projection lens, and a shade. The shade has an upper end edge portion and a raised portion. The upper end edge portion has a projection. The reflector reflects light output from the light source in the front direction. The projection lens in front of the light source projects the light. The shade between the reflector and the projection shields a portion of the light. The upper end edge portion contributes to form the upper end line of the low beam as a cut-off line. The projection contributes to form a recession of the cut-off line recessed below a specific point in the low beam. The raised portion reflects the light having passed above the projection to illuminate an inner region of the recession.

摘要: A projector headlight for a low beam can include a first and second lighting unit. Each of the first and second lighting units can include an LED light source, an ellipsoidal reflector, a projector lens and a shade. Light emitted from the LED light source can form a light distribution pattern from the projector lens via the ellipsoidal reflector by shielding an upwards portion of the light with the shade. The shade of the second lighting unit may be configured so as not to project light on a specific point under a cut-off line on an oncoming lane using a convex portion thereon. Therefore, the first lighting unit can project light with a maximum light intensity at the specific point so as to overlap the light distribution pattern formed by the second lighting unit. Thus, the projector headlight can perform a favorable light distribution pattern that can conform to a light distribution standard for headlights.

摘要: A vehicular lighting fixture can include a shade wherein an end edge of an upper surface of the shade is positioned at or in a vicinity of a focus of a projection lens. A first reflection surface can be provided to condense light from a light source in a vicinity of the end edge and to form a basic light distribution pattern by the projection lens. A second reflection surface which can comprise one planar reflection surface and can reflect light from the first reflection surface to form a first additional light distribution pattern. A third reflection surface can be provided on a higher surface of a step section of the upper surface, and can reflect light from the first reflection surface to form a second additional light distribution pattern. A fourth reflection surface can connect the second and third reflection surface, and can reflect the light from the first reflection surface in a direction not incident on the projection lens.

摘要: A switch comprising a switch case, contacts adapted to be opened and closed, an arc extinguishing chamber disposed in the vicinity of the contacts, and an arc extinguishing material capable of reducing the amount of metal particles and free carbons to be scattered from components disposed within the switch by an arc generated when the contacts are opened or closed or capable of insulating the metal particles and the free carbons to convert into an insulator, thereby inhibiting a decrease in arc resistance expected to occur upon the generation and extinction of the arc and a decrease in insulation resistance expected to occur within and around the arc extinguishing chamber and at inner wall surfaces of the switch case upon and after the extinction of the arc. The switch according to the present invention is applicable to a switch expected to generate an arc upon interruption of electric current flowing therethrough such as a circuit breaker, current-limiting device or electromagnetic contactor and is capable of immediately extinguishing the arc and inhibiting the decrease in insulation resistance within and around the arc extinguishing chamber and at inner wall surfaces of the switch case.

摘要: A current limiting device includes first and second contact members, each contact member having, at a first end, contacts defining a contact pair; a contacting pressure is applied to said contact pair; and a cylindrical insulator cylindrically surrounding the contacts when the contacts are closed. The device is arranged such that at least one of the first and second contact members is rotatably supported at a second end. Also, an electrical path is defined through which currents flow in substantial opposition to the first and second contact members and in opposite directions to each other. The first ends of the first and second contact members are positioned within the space defined by the cylindrical insulator in the closed contact state. The contact of at least one of the rotatably supported contact members is positioned outside of the space defined by the cylindrical insulator when the contacts are open.
