摘要: A current limiting device includes first and second contact members, each contact member having, at a first end, contacts defining a contact pair; a contacting pressure is applied to said contact pair; and a cylindrical insulator cylindrically surrounding the contacts when the contacts are closed. The device is arranged such that at least one of the first and second contact members is rotatably supported at a second end. Also, an electrical path is defined through which currents flow in substantial opposition to the first and second contact members and in opposite directions to each other. The first ends of the first and second contact members are positioned within the space defined by the cylindrical insulator in the closed contact state. The contact of at least one of the rotatably supported contact members is positioned outside of the space defined by the cylindrical insulator when the contacts are open.

摘要: In a manufacturing method of a spacer for an electron-beam apparatus which includes an airtight container and an electron source, the spacer is arranged in the airtight container. The method includes the step of heating and drawing a base material of the spacer to form a desired rough state on the surface of the base material, the step of heating and drawing the base material of the spacer to form the desired rough state and an electroconductive film on the surface of the base material, or the step of heating and drawing the base material of the spacer having the rough state on its surface. According to the present invention, the spacer having a surface structure which can suppress charging can be manufactured at a low cost, and an electron-beam apparatus such as an image-forming apparatus having a sufficient display luminance can also be manufactured.

摘要: A support member (20) for maintaining the distance between a face plate (30) and a rear plate (31) is interposed between the face plate (30) and the rear plate (31). An insulating film is formed on the support member (20) or its surface. An intermediate layer (21) is formed at a portion near the rear plate (31). The intermediate layer (21) is set at a low resistance and the same potential as that of the rear plate (31). As a result, an electron beam emitted from an electron-emitting portion near the support member (20) follows an orbit which is directed temporarily away from the support member and then comes close to the support member near the face plate (30) due to the steady charge-up of the support member. Then, the electron beam is irradiated on a defined position on the face plate (30).

摘要: In an image forming apparatus, a support member (50) for maintaining the distance between a face plate (30) and a rear plate (31) is interposed between the face plate (30) and the rear plate (31). An intermediate layer (52) is formed at apportion near the face plate (30). The intermediate layer (52) is a low-resistance film, and is set to have almost the same potential as that of the face plate (30). As a result, an electron beam from an electron-emitting portion near the support member (50) follows an orbit which steadily comes close to the support member near the face plate. By setting the interval between electron-emitting devices adjacent to each other via the support member to be larger than the interval between devices adjacent to each other without the mediacy of the support member, the electron beam is irradiated on a proper position on the face plate (30).

摘要: A microactuator having a piezoelectric material and a drive electrode formed adjacent to the piezoelectric material is manufactured by forming an electroplating electrode on a substrate and providing a photosensitive material layer on the substrate on which the electroplating electrode is formed. The photosensitive material layer is exposed in a desired pattern. The exposed photosensitive material layer is developed to partially remove the exposed photosensitive material layer. A metal with electroplating is filled in a substrate portion from which the photosensitive material layer is removed, so that a drive electrode is formed. A remaining photosensitive material layer is removed. Finally, a piezoelectric material is selectively filled in a substrate portion adjacent to the drive electrode.
