    摘要: A phase-domain delta-sigma (ΔΣ) modulator in a phase digitizer determines a demodulated phase error based on a phase-modulated frequency signal, in which a carrier frequency is modulated with a fundamental frequency and an associated phase, and a selected one of a set of reference signals, where the demodulated phase error represents a difference between the phase and a reference phase of the selected one of the set of reference signals. Moreover, a digital filter in the phase-domain ΔΣ modulator filters the demodulated phase error. Furthermore, a latch in the phase-domain ΔΣ modulator provides a bit stream by sampling one or more bits of the filtered demodulated phase error, where an average value of the bit stream represents the phase. Next, control logic in the phase-domain ΔΣ modulator selects the one of the set of reference signals.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method of fabricating a micro machined channel, comprising the steps of providing a substrate of a first material and having a buried layer of a different material therein, and forming at least two trenches in said substrate by removing at least part of said substrate. Said trenches are provided at a distance from each other and at least partly extend substantially parallel to each other, as well as towards said buried layer. The method comprises the step of forming at least two filled trenches by providing a second material different from said first material and filling said at least two trenches with at least said second material; forming an elongated cavity in between said filled trenches by removing at least part of said substrate extending between said filled trenches; and forming an enclosed channel by providing a layer of material in said cavity and enclosing said cavity.

    摘要: Thermostable Cas9 nucleases. The present invention relates to the field of genetic engineering and more particularly to nucleic acid editing and genome modification. The present invention provides an isolated Cas protein or polypeptide fragment thereof having an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or a sequence of at least 77% identity therewith. The Cas protein or polypeptide is capable of binding, cleaving, marking or modifying a double stranded target polynucleotide at a temperature in the range 20° C. and 100° C. inclusive. The invention further provides isolated nucleic acid molecules encoding said Cas9 nucleases, expression vectors and host cells. The invention also provides PAM sequences recognized by the Cas protein or polypeptide, The Cas9 nucleases disclosed herein provide novel tools for genetic engineering in general, in particular at elevated temperatures and are of particular value in the genetic manipulation of thermophilic organisms; particularly microorganisms.
