    Abstract: A metal strand comprising at least two filaments. At least one filament is interrupted, providing a filament end, which is fixed to the uninterrupted filaments of the strand using a fixing substance, preferably a soldering substance. Such strand can be used to provide, e.g. cords, rubber, or polymer reinforcement of tires and belts such as elevator or timing belts, hoisting or elevator ropes, control cables, or suspension rope.

    Abstract: A cable (211) is provided comprising a steel cord (212) and a polymer material (215). The steel filaments (213) of the steel cord (212) are coated with an adhesive before the penetration of the polymer material (215). The cable (211) has a structural elongation less than 0.025% and an E module 4% greater than the E module of the steel cord (212). These two improvements further decrease the total elongation of the cable at certain load.

    Abstract: A fine steel cord for the reinforcement of synchronous belts is presented. The fine cord has a distinct load elongation curve characterized by a very low structural elongation (below 0.09% preferably below 0.06%), and a high equivaslent modulus between 0.2 and 20% of the breaking, load. The favorable results are maintained when the cords are coated with an elastomer coating. Such a fine steel cord reduces the geometrical spread on the tooth pitch of the synchronous belts during use. A method to produce such a fine steel cord is also presented.
