摘要: In a variable resistor of the type wherein there is formed on an insulating substrate a resistive member having wide portions and narrow portions in the sliding direction of a slide member and ends thereof wired respectively to a ground terminal and an input terminal. A plurality of contact elements formed on said slide member are brought into sliding contact with said resistive member and a high resistance film allowing the passage of electrostatic charges therethrough is formed at portions of said insulating substrate lying within the sliding passage of said contact elements so that a part of said contact elements comes into contact therewith when it comes off from said resistive member.

摘要: The event message is transmitted from an operative event detection device to the application, the transmission history is held by a device different from the operative event detection device, an event identifier of an event message and a time stamp in the generation history held by a standby event detection device is compared with an event identifier of an event message and a time stamp in the transmission history when the standby event detection device detects an abnormal condition of the operative event detection device, thereby transmitting an event message that has not been transmitted by the operative event detection device through the standby event detection device, and allowing the standby event detection device to transfer from the standby event detection device to an operative system.

摘要: A method of readily producing a gradient optical element having infrared absorbing ability by easily forming a refractive index distribution in a desired portion of a glass substrate having infrared absorbing ability without requiring a specific treatment atmosphere nor using a molten salt.More specifically, the present invention provides a method for producing a gradient-index optical element having infrared absorbing ability, the method comprising applying a paste containing an organic resin, an organic solvent, and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of lithium compounds, potassium compounds, rubidium compounds, cesium compounds, silver compounds, copper compounds, and thallium compounds onto a glass substrate containing an alkali metal component, at least one member selected from the group consisting of iron, copper, cobalt and vanadium, and over 3 wt. % of iron, when contained singly among iron, copper, cobalt and vanadium, on an Fe2O3 basis, taking the total weight of the glass as 100 wt. %, and heating the glass substrate at a temperature below the softening temperature of the glass substrate.

摘要: Disclosed are a computer-readable recording medium which records communication programs, communication method and communication apparatus capable of easily performing selection and execution of communication units according to communication units of communication partners. A profile management unit manages specific information including a combination of device type information and user identification information in each communication unit, and user IDs associated with the combined information. An application controller, when a session using any one of communication units is established between users, refers to specific information and associates user IDs with the combined information in the communication unit. A collection unit collects presence information where state information indicating whether communication units are available is associated with the combined information in each communication unit. A presence management unit, when a user ID is specified, refers to presence information and reports presence information to client terminals of users where the session is established.

摘要: A proxy device has: an address management portion for sending an alternative IP address and an alternative MAC address not used within a network to a server unit when a sleep invocation notification is received from the server unit; a virtual interface creation portion for creating a virtual interface having a server IP address and a server MAC address, which were used by the server unit before the notification is sent; a broadcasting portion for broadcasting a packet indicating that a location of the server IP address and the server MAC address has shifted into the proxy device to the network; a server wakeup processing portion sending a restoration notice to the server unit if the virtual interface receives data destined for the server IP address; and a virtual interface deleting portion for deleting the virtual interface if the server unit indicates restoration from the sleep mode.

摘要: A proxy server is communicably connected to another server. An association storage unit stores proxy information and server information. A determination unit determines, when an access request transmitted by the client is received, whether or not the server specified by the access request is actually accessible. A first access request transfer unit, when the server specified by the access request is determined to be actually inaccessible, searches the association storage unit using the server information identifying the server specified by the access request and transfers the access request to the proxy server identified by the proxy information associated with the server information. A second access request transfer unit, when the server specified by the access request is determined to be actually accessible, transfers the access request to the server specified by the access request.
