    摘要: A microfracture instrument for applying microfracture therapy to a bone, the microfracture instrument comprising: an elongated shaft comprising a distal end and a proximal end; a needle comprising a body terminating in at least one sharp point, the needle being movably mounted to the distal end of the shaft for movement between an extended position for engaging the bone with the at least one sharp point of the needle and a retracted position for withdrawing the at least one sharp point of the needle from the bone; and a drive shaft movably mounted to the elongated shaft, the drive shaft being connected to the body of the needle so that movement of the drive shaft relative to the elongated shaft moves the needle between its extended position and its retracted position.

    摘要: A delivery mechanism for delivering tissue holding implants through tissues to be held in approximation includes a shaft having a tip at its distal end, and which is loaded with one or more implants. A wire channel which contains a driving wire is also located within the shaft. When the mechanism is actuated, the driving wire exhibits a proportional longitudinal displacement in the wire channel, such that the wire engages an implant, conveys it along the shaft's longitudinal axis towards the tip, and forces it through the tip. The implants are oriented such that they lie along or nearly along the shaft's longitudinal axis when being conveyed along the axis. The mechanism may optionally include an opposing jaw arranged such that, when actuated, the distal end of the jaw is moved towards the tip, such that tissues placed between the jaw and tip are pinned between them.

    摘要: A medical device includes an articulating shaft with a pair of slat assemblies. By moving an articulator, the slat assemblies are configured to concurrently push while the other pulls in order to bend the articulating shaft. The articulating shaft includes a series of alternating pins and pivot members. Each pin defines an aperture that collectively forms a passageway for receiving an actuator or a tube. The pair of slat assemblies extend generally parallel to each other on opposite sides of the pins. A method for articulating a shaft of a medical device is also provided.
