    摘要： A container having a rectangular tubular body section sealingly joined to a top and bottom panel by curled lock seams. The tubular body has an upper and lower portion integrally joined together by a center concave smooth and rounded belt. The top and bottom panels are secured to the tubular body by means of curled lock seams. The containers are adapted to stack one upon another by means of the complementary configuration of the top and bottom panels. A V-shaped recess is located immediately adjacent each lock seam extending around the periphery of the top and bottom panels adding to the strength of the container.

    摘要： A method and apparatus for forming metal wheel assemblies having a rim and attached spider. A pair of outer dies complementary to the final radial form of the wheel rim are moved together to enclose an annular metal workpiece. A pair of horizontally opposed conical dies are then moved interiorly of the outer dies and annular workpiece. Each conical die has an annular stuffing ledge which contacts the edge of the workpiece. Force is then exerted against the workpiece edges so as to plastically regenerate the workpiece between the conical dies and outer dies; thus, providing thickening of the material in desired areas. A spider extending across the workpiece is axially loaded with the conical dies causing plastic deformation of the spider. A center rod mounted to and projecting from one of the conical dies is concentric with the conical dies and extends through the spider as the spider plastically deforms therearound. A groove formed in one of the conical dies forms a seating ridge in the spider which is defined by a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the wheel rim. A plurality of seating bosses are formed into the spider by the conical dies.

THE APPARATUS HAS A TOP DIE WITH STUFFING LEDGE MOVABLE TOWARD A BOTTOM DIE WITH A CONVEX PORTION. THE STUFFING LEDGE FORCES THE WORKPIECE BETWEEN THE COMPLEMENTARY SIZED DIES THEREBY FORMING THE DISH SHAPE. SIMULTANEOUSLY, A PUNCH PASSES THROUGH THE WORKPIECE AND IS HELD THEREIN DURING THE PLASTIC DEFORMATION TO ACCURATELY SIZE THE OPENING OF THE SHADOW MASK FRAME.

    摘要： A pallet including an annular leg concentrically formed in the pallet and a coiled edge extending around the entire periphery thereof. The pallet is formed out of sheet metal by repeated draw operations whereby the central portion of the pallet is first formed and then the central configuration is held by tightly gripping dies while the outer portions of the pallet are formed progressively. The outer edge portion of the pallet is coiled around the complete periphery thereof by a die arrangement which captures the coil in a closed container and retains it as it is being formed. The outer edge portion of the pallet is first formed in the shape of a flange extending perpendicularly of the central portion of the pallet. Recessed dies are then closed about the flange and a set of centrally located holding dies, which grip the pallet, are moved relative to the recessed dies causing one of the recessed dies to wipe one of the holding dies and causing the outer edge portion of the pallet to be coiled in the closed space between the recessed dies.

    摘要： A container having an expanded rectangular tubular body section and a pair of opposing end panel sections. The body section includes a peripheral recess which facilitates lifting the container by, for example, the arms of a fork lift truck. For strengthening purposes the body section incorporates a plurality of gussets which are adjacent to the edge of said lifting recess. Such containers are adapted to stack one upon another by means of the complementary configurations of the two end panel sections. The end sections are secured to the body section by means of crimping or by a curled lock seam. In one embodiment of the invention crimping and decrimping of one end may be effected my means of crimping and decrimping tools having C-shaped heads which are adapted to engage the outer leg of a U-shaped rim.
