    Abstract: The invention relates to an electrical machine of the transversal-flux type. The machine comprises a stator and a movable element. The stator has a plurality of stator elements with magnetic flux conductors and an electric winding extending in a closed winding path through each magnetic flux conductor. The movable element comprises a number of permanent-magnet members and is movable in relation to the stator along a movement path. The winding path comprises a first current-carrying section extending along the movement path. Each magnetic flux conductor forms, together with one of the permanent-magnet members, a closed magnetic flux circuit around said current-carrying section. Each permanent-magnet member comprises a primary magnet with a magnetic direction across the movement path. Adjacently located permanent-magnet members are separated from each other by an intermediate member comprising at least one secondary magnet that has a magnetic direction essentially across the magnetic direction of the primary magnet.

    Abstract: An electrical machine with at least a machine unit. This machine unit includes a stator, which includes a plurality of magnetic flux conductors, an electric conductor forming a winding extending in a substantially closed winding path through each magnetic flux conductor, and a least one first movable element, which includes a number of permanent magnet elements and which is movable in a reciprocating movement in relation to the stator along a first movement path in a space having a finite length and formed by at least some of the magnetic flux conductors. The winding path includes a first current carrying portion, which extends substantially in parallel with the first movement path. Each magnetic flux conductor is arranged to form, together with one of the permanent magnetic elements, a closed magnetic flux circuit extending around the current carrying portion.

    Abstract: An electrical machine with at least a machine unit.     Abstract: A power generation system includes at least one generator having at least two sets of stator windings, an active rectifier comprising power cell based modular converters associated with each set of generator windings. Each set of windings is connected to an AC voltage side of the associated active rectifier, with each active rectifier having a positive DC voltage output and a negative DC voltage output. The DC voltage outputs of active rectifiers are connected to each other in series. A medium voltage DC (MVDC) collection network comprises positive pole cables and negative pole cables, wherein each positive pole cable is connected to the positive DC voltage output of a first active rectifier and each negative pole cable is connected to the negative DC voltage output of a last active rectifier. A substation receives the negative and positive pole cables of the MVDC collection network for further transformation and transmission.

Reconfigurable power systems may include a DC power source, an electrical energy storage device, an AC power grid connection, a first power converter, and a second power converter.     Abstract: An electrical machine with a rotor or the stator including a plurality of discrete field modules, and the other one of the rotor and the stator including a plurality of armature coils connected to different power converters. Each field module includes one or more field coils which can be activated independent of the field coils of the neighbouring field modules. When at least one of the field coils is inactivated, e.g. because of a defect, each of the power converters is allowing less power to pass through when an armature coil connected to it is moving over an inactivated field coil, and more power to pass through when the armature coil connected to it is moving over an activated field coil.
