A film for lamination comprising a polyester resin containing a polyfunctional component in an amount of 0.01 to 0.50 mol % and having a melt tension of not smaller than 50 mN. Even when laminated on a metal plate by a high-speed extrusion lamination method, the film can be applied onto the metal plate maintaining a uniform thickness and good adhesiveness without undergoing oscillation or pulsation. Being blended with a copolymerizable component in an amount of 10 to 20 mol %, in particular, the laminated member coated with the film features excellent adhesiveness of the coating. By further laminating a layer of another polyester resin on the above film, the flavor-retaining property can be imparted as well.

A method of producing an extrusion-laminated member comprises extruding a thermoplastic resin from a T-die into the form of a film and laminating the film on a heated metallic base member using a pair of laminating rolls, wherein a pre-roll is disposed between the T-die and one of the laminating rolls to receive the film on the side opposite to the side that adheres onto the base member over the whole width of the film. The film is wound on the pre-roll at an angle (&agr;) of from 10 to 90 degrees. The film received by the pre-roll is fed to the laminating rolls, conveyed by being supported by the laminating rolls on the side opposite to the side that adheres onto the base member, and is fed to a nipping position so as to be melt-adhered onto the heated metallic base member.

A polyester resin for covering metal sheets, comprising an acid component chiefly consisting of a terephthalic acid and, further, containing 1 to 15 mol % of an isophthalic acid and 2 to 10 mol % of a dimeric acid; and an alcohol component chiefly consisting of an ethylene glycol; wherein the dimeric acid contains not less than 20 mol % of an aliphatic dimeric acid, and the molar ratio of the aliphatic dimeric acid and an alicyclic dimeric acid is in a range of 1:1 to 1:5. The polyester resin for covering metal sheets features excellent film-forming property, closely adhering property during the working and elution resistance.

The present invention provides a method for trimming a resin film which can recycle lug portions of the resin film after trimming, can easily trim the resin film even when the resin film is made of resin which becomes fragile by cooling, and enhance the use efficiency of a laminated sheet by making resin coated portions disposed at both sides of the laminated sheet thin. At the time of coating molten resin at least on one surface of a substrate to form a resin film after making the molten resin pass between coating rolls, the lug portions of the resin film are trimmed before the lug portions of the resin film are cooled.

The resin-coated seamless can is formed of a resin-coated metal plate having substantially unoriented two layers including a lower layer on the inside of the can and a surface layer on the lower layer, wherein both of the layers comprise a polyethylene terephthalate/isophthalate having an intrinsic viscosity [&eegr;] of not smaller than 0.7, and the surface layer contains an isophthalic acid in an amount of from 3 to 13 mol %, and the lower layer contains the isophthalic acid in an amount of from 8 to 25 mol %, which is larger than that of the surface layer, and the degree of crystallization of the surface layer is larger than the degree of crystallization of the lower layer in the upper part of the can wall.
