Abstract: After the establishment of a mesh network (e.g., a Bluetooth mesh network), a smart device (not the original provisioner) may be provisioned to the mesh network by a node of the mesh network, which acts a provisioner. Network keys and other provisioning information may be provided to the smart device from the provisioner node using a standard mesh provisioning process implemented in reverse (i.e., from the node to the smart device). The reverse-implementation of the standard mesh provisioning process does not require cloud services, a sideband channel, or any custom interface service between the smart device and the mesh network. Other methods of provisioning a smart device to a mesh network are also provided, as are other aspects.

Abstract: A processing device can digitally control lighting fixtures by receiving a request to generate light at a correlated color temperature (“CCT”) level in an environment. The environment can include a first lighting fixture having a first range of generatable CCT values and a second lighting fixture having a second range of generatable CCT values. The processing device can determine a first CCT value based on the request and the first range. The processing device can further determine a second CCT value based on the first CCT value and the second range. The processing device can further transmit a first digital signal to the first lighting fixture to cause the first lighting fixture to generate light at the first CCT value. The processing device can further transmit a second digital signal to the second lighting fixture to cause the second lighting fixture to generate light at the second CCT value.

Abstract: A lighting system includes a wake-up light source to emit a wake-up light beam and a plurality of luminaires located in a space. A respective luminaire includes an illumination light source to emit illumination lighting for the space, a light sensor to detect light, a wireless transceiver configured for wireless communication, and a memory. The respective luminaire further includes a processor coupled to the light sensor, the wireless transceiver, and the memory. The respective luminaire further includes wake-up programming in the memory. Execution of the wake-up programming by the processor causes the respective luminaire to: (a) detect a plurality of light measurements above a light threshold; (b) determine whether the plurality of light measurements are in accordance with a pattern; and (c) in response to determining the plurality of light measurements are in accordance with the pattern, enter a beaconing mode.

Abstract: An emergency luminaire includes an emergency luminaire light source to emit emergency illumination lighting. The emergency luminaire also includes an emergency luminaire power supply configured to be driven by an emergency power line. The emergency luminaire further includes emergency luminaire programming, wherein execution of the emergency luminaire programming configures the emergency luminaire to implement the following functions. The emergency luminaire tracks an active message gap time. In response to receiving a normal power active message from a respective member device of a plurality of member devices of a lighting control group before the tracked active message gap time exceeds an active message timeout, the emergency luminaire resets the active message gap time. In response to the tracked active message gap time exceeding the active message timeout, the emergency luminaire enters an emergency mode (EM) active state by controlling the emergency luminaire light source to emit the emergency illumination lighting.

Abstract: A method includes tracking one or more echoes of an original message sent from a battery-powered device in a wireless communication network. The battery-powered device includes a lighting control device or a phenomenon sensor. The method further includes adjusting a likelihood of designating a repeater for the battery-powered device based on the battery-powered device receiving an adjustment echo of the one or more echoes or one or more line-powered devices receiving the original message directly from the battery-powered device. The method further includes determining whether or not to designate a repeater for the battery-powered device based on the battery-powered device receiving a determination echo of the one or more echoes of the original message, or the one or more line-powered devices receiving the original message directly from the battery-powered device.

Abstract: A lighting control system includes a control group including a plurality of member devices which includes a power monitor and an emergency luminaire. The power monitor includes a power supply driven by a normal power source. The power monitor implements the following function. Transmit, via a wireless lighting control network, a normal power active message to the control group repeatedly at a predetermined time interval. The emergency luminaire includes an emergency light source to continuously emit illumination lighting during an emergency, and a power supply driven by an emergency power line. The emergency luminaire implements the following functions. Track an active message gap time. Reset the active message gap time after receiving the normal power active message. In response to the tracked active message gap time exceeding an active message timeout, enter an emergency mode active state by controlling the emergency light source to continuously emit the illumination lighting.
