摘要： A mixer is provided that is configured for attachment to a power tool for mixing a viscous material, and includes a shaft defining a shaft axis, and a plurality of paddles attached to the shaft and extending radially from the shaft. All of the paddles have generally the same axial distance to the first end of the shaft, and the paddles are configured for rotation about the shaft axis in a direction of rotation. Each of the paddles has a general “S”-shape defined between a top end and a bottom end of the paddle, and between a leading surface and a trailing surface of the paddle.

摘要： A set accelerator for at least one of accelerating the hydration rate and reducing the set time of an aqueous slurry of calcium sulfate hemihydrate is described. The set accelerator consists of a mixture of ground calcium sulfate dihydrate and zinc sulfate material. Aluminum sulfate material is an optional component of the set accelerator. The set accelerator is particularly useful in accelerating the hydration rates of sprayable plasters. A fluid form of the set accelerator may be made by suspending the solids in water. The fluid form is advantageously used in ready mixed setting type joint compounds.

摘要： This method relates to making a joint compound that includes predispersing a dedusting agent in water to make a predispersed dedusting agent. Dry components, including at least one filler, are combined to make a dry mixture. Process water is pumped into a vessel and the predispersed dedusting agent is introduced to the vessel. The dry mixture is then added to the vessel and all components are blended to make a homogeneous product.

摘要： A plaster composition for making molds for reproduction by casting is disclosed. Calcium sulfate hemihydrate, potassium sulfate and potassium sodium tartrate are mixed together. The potassium sulfate and potassium sodium tartrate are in a ratio of from about 1:1 to about 10:1. Potassium sodium tartrate is present in an amount of from about 1 to about 10 pounds per ton of dry calcium sulfate hemihydrate, and the total of the potassium sulfate and potassium sodium tartrate is from about 2 to about 35 pounds per ton of calcium sulfate hemihydrate. Methods of making and using molds of this composition are also disclosed.

摘要： An acoustical panel includes an acoustical layer has an interlocking matrix of calcium sulfate dihydrate, polyethylene glycol and at least one of the group fibers, a lightweight aggregate and mixtures thereof. The acoustical layer has voids in the interlocking matrix that are configured to absorb sound. The polyethylene glycol is selected to agglomerate dust at temperatures generated by friction when panel is cut.A method of making the acoustical panel includes making a slurry comprising calcium sulfate hemihydrate, polyethylene glycol, water and at least one of the group consisting of a lightweight aggregate, fibers and combinations thereof. Foam is added to the slurry, preferably at the mixer discharge. A continuous strip of acoustical layer material is formed from the slurry. The acoustical panels are formed by cutting the strip into individual panels. Finally, the partially hydrated calcium sulfate hemihydrate is allowed to fully set.
