摘要： A method and system for supporting operation of a scheduler by providing indications of communication device transmit buffer status is provided. The indication of buffer status can be generated by a third-party device which is external to both the communication device and the scheduler. In some embodiments matched local and remote models of the buffer are maintained at the communication device and third-party device (or scheduler), respectively. The communication device monitors locally for drift of the model from the actual buffer status. When a level of mismatch in the model is detected, both the local and remote models are updated to mitigate the mismatch.

A central controller gathers network information, including global parameters and long term demands, and determines an initial schedule for link activation based on these variables. A scheduler receives the initial schedule and modifies the initial schedule based on local parameters, inter-schedule negotiation, or other short term or localized requests. The scheduler activates the links according to the modified schedule. Accordingly, the scheduler can be responsible for modifying the initial schedule provided by central controller with localized or short term requests or demands, and providing the necessary parameters to enable link activation between nodes according to the modified schedule.

摘要： An aspect of the disclosure provides a method of admitting a session from a user device subscribed to a service with a virtual network operator. The method includes receiving a service request from said user device at an Access Point and selecting a network function Authentication and Authorization (AA) function (AAF) to confirm the user device is authorized for the requested service, and transmitting the request to the selected network function AAA function. The AAAF which processes the request may reside with the virtual network operator (VNO). However, the VNO may share its AAA database with other network entities (for example, Telecom Connectivity Service Providers (TCSPs) or InPs), and allow those entities to perform the AAA functions.

摘要： A method of generating a network slice is provided. The method comprises a network slice orchestrator (NWSO) receiving from a network slice manager (NWSM) a request for a new network slice, the NWSO adding a new service to the new network slice, the NWSO determining a network slice descriptor (NWSD) for the new network slice, the NWSO transmitting to a resource orchestrator (RO) a request for an instantiation of the network slice using enhanced network function virtualization management and orchestration (E-MANO). A method of modifying a network slice is also provided. The method comprises a NWSO receiving from a NWSM a request to add a new service to a network slice, the NWSO adding a new service to the network slice, the NWSO determining a NWSD for the network slice with the added service, and the NWSO transmitting to a RO a request for an instantiation of the added service on the network slice using E-MANO. A method of terminating a network slice is also provided. The method comprises a NWSO receiving from a NWSM a request to terminate a network slice, the NWSO determining the subnetworks to terminate, and the NWSO transmitting to a RO a request for a termination of the slice specific network functions (NFs).

摘要： Methods and apparatus for management of network slices in a communication network such as a 5th generation wireless communication network are provided. Management planes may be provided which are separate from the plurality of network slices. A connection manager residing in a management plane receives an indication that a mobile device is to be associated with the communication network. The connection manager may reside at an access node or in the core network. A network slice is determined, and the connection manager transmits instructions, to one or more network nodes, to associate the mobile device with the network slice. The instructions may be provided to a local connection manager. The slice may be requested explicitly by the mobile device, or determined based on device and/or network requirements.
