    摘要: Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications, for various telemetry applications, such as meter reading, alarm applications or the like, utilize data communication service via a public mobile/wireless communication network, such as the short message service (SMS). However, such M2M communications may involve a large number of clients. To avoid the need to assign a telephone number, such as a mobile directory number (MDN) or the like, to each of the many remote M2M clients, routing through the network is based on another type of MSID (Mobile Station Identifier), such as the MIN (Mobile Identifier Number) or the IMSI (International Mobile Station Identifier) of the client. SMS messages transmissions originating at a client use a short code for the M2M application address, and SMS messages intended to terminate at a client use the MIN or IMSI as the routing address for the M2M device.

    摘要: Disclosed is a fishing line spool assembly including an open body frame, wherein a fishing line spool is mounted between two side plates of the body frame at an open end, has a central bore, and is rotatably sandwiched between the two side plates by a clamping adjustable device inserted through the central bore of the fishing line spool and bores of the two side plates. The body frame is provided with a connection device for connecting to a fishing rod. With the present invention, the clamping force applied on the fishing line spool by the two side plates can by adjusted by the clamping adjustable device. When the fishing line in the fishing line spool is drawn by a fishing reel, the clamping force on the fishing line spool by the body frame will function as a brake against the rotation of the fishing line spool.

    摘要: To address counterfeit problems, for example, we propose a secure, flexible, and cost-effective authentication solution that can be integrated into conventional distribution logistic systems. The proposed solution for product authentication and distribution channel validation comprises three major components: 1) machine-readable Raman-active chemical taggant; 2) a taggant reader; and 3) a taggant eraser. The proposed solution is to control and validate the distribution channel by authenticating the origin of products. Authentication is accomplished by verification of distinct taggants associated with the articles, such as on its label, along with other product distribution information in optical, spatial-encoding indicia, such as a barcode. The taggant information is used to identify, validate, and distinguish the origin of the source of the articles, such as goods or products. The taggant material is thereafter rendered unreadable by modifying the taggants to make obtaining the information unfeasible, thereby controlling the taggants' lifecycle.

    摘要: A spectrometer that provides the ability to combine the advantages of high resolution, compactness, ruggedness, and low-power consumption of Fabry-Perot (FP) tunable filter spectrometer, with the multi-channel multiplexing advantage of FT and/or grating/detector array. The key concept is to design and operate a tunable FP filter in a multiple-order condition. This filter is then followed by a “low-resolution” fixed grating, which disperses the filtered n-order signal into a preferably matched N-element detector array for parallel detection. The spectral resolution in this system is determined by the FP filter, which can be designed to have very high resolution. The N-order parallel detection scheme reduces the total integration or scan time by a factor of N to achieve the same signal to noise ratio (SNR) at the same resolution as the single channel tunable filter method. This design is also very flexible, allowing spectrometer systems with appropriate order N to thereby optimize the system performance for spectral resolution and scan integration time. In addition to the significant reduction in scan integration time, there are two other advantages to this approach. The first, because the FP tunable filter is designed and operated under n-orders, the fabrication tolerances of the FP filter cavity and operating conditions are significantly loosened.

    摘要: An integrated optical line card protection module uses free-space optical links to thereby increase the level of integration while decreasing footprint. The module comprises a bench, a user-side interface to an array of user fibers and a device-side interface to an array of device fibers. The device fibers connect the module to a primary device and a redundant device. A monitoring signal generator is provided on the bench that provides monitoring signals. A monitoring signal detector is also on the bench that detects the monitoring signals. Finally, a beam switching system is provided that selectively connects the user fibers to the device fibers of the primary device or the device fibers of the redundant device. The preferred configuration is in-line with the user-side interface on an opposed side of the module relative to the device side interface. This is accomplished with translating switching system.

In one aspect, the fibers are mounted in the array such that the respective core-to-clad offset axes of the fibers, defined between the fiber core center and the cladding center of each fiber, are substantially parallel. In another aspect, the plurality of fibers are cut from the same fiber spool, ensuring consistency in cladding outer diameter.
