摘要: An internal combustion engine system, including a primary fuel tank that stores a fuel, a fuel reformer that reforms the fuel from the primary fuel tank, a secondary fuel tank that stores the fuel reformed by the fuel reformer, a fuel injection device that injects the fuel that is selectably supplied from either the primary fuel tank or secondary fuel tank into a combustion chamber, a sensor that detects the quantity of fuel remaining in the secondary fuel tank, and a control device that sets and outputs a load and revolution speed of the engine. The control device is configured to set the engine load and engine revolution speed according to a request output determined based upon an operation performed by an operator. The engine load and engine revolution speed when the quantity of fuel remaining in the secondary fuel tank is more than a predetermined value, are set different than when the quantity of fuel remaining in the secondary fuel tank is less than the predetermined value.

摘要: In an embodiment, the invention provides an internal combustion engine, including a first fuel injector that supplies a first fuel to a first predetermined region in a combustion chamber, and a second fuel injector that supplies a second fuel to a second predetermined region in the combustion chamber. The second fuel has an octane number that is different than an octane number of the first fuel, and the second predetermined region is different from the first predetermined region. An ignition device is configured to start ignition of one of the first and second fuels based on an ignition signal. An operation condition detector detects at least one engine operating condition. A controller is configured to provide the ignition signal to the ignition device and to determine which one of the first and second fuels to ignite by the ignition device based on the engine operation condition.

摘要: An internal combustion engine is provided that basically comprises a combustion chamber, an electric discharge unit and a controller. The combustion chamber receives a mixture of fuel and air that is caused to undergo compression self ignition. The electric discharge unit is provided inside the combustion chamber to generate an electric discharge for conducting combustion inside the combustion chamber. The controller is configured to control a voltage applied to the electric discharge unit. The controller is configured to control the electric discharge unit such that a non-thermal plasma can be formed without incurring a transition to arc discharging, and to control the quantity and distribution of an activated air-fuel mixture inside the combustion chamber in accordance with an operating condition of the internal combustion engine.
