摘要: The optical resolution of DL-pantolactone is effected by reacting DL-pantolactone or its alkali salt derived therefrom, respectively, with an optically active N-substituted aminophenylpropanol of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a phenyl group which may be substituted and R.sub.2 is an aralkyl group in which the benzene ring may bear a substituent, or its mineral acid addition salt; separating the resulting diastereomers by the aid of difference in their dissolubility; and decomposing them to give the corresponding optical antipodes. This method can provide the antipodes in high purity and yield and can be carried out with ease.

摘要: In order to melt snow and prevent freezing without consuming energy wastefully and to monitor a road surface state remotely, a road surface sensor includes: a rotating stand provided so as to be reciprocatingly rotatable upward on the road surface; a snow-melting/freezing heat quantity measurement dummy road surface having an electric heater buried therein and to use as a reference road surface for heat quantity measurement to derive a melting heat quantity for snow falling on the surface and a heat quantity required for freezing prevention; a reference light irradiating/reflected light receiving device that is attached so as to be rotatable with the rotating stand; a space reflected light receiving device; a non-contact road temperature measuring device; a non-contact snow cover depth measuring device; a road surface image pickup device; and a moisture sensor. The reference light irradiating/reflected light receiving device includes a reference light irradiating device for irradiating reference light and a reflected light receiving device for receiving reflected light of the reference light from the road surface, and the reflected light receiving device separates and receives only reflected light of the reference light out of the reflected light from the road surface.

摘要: Plural pictures recorded on an optical film are read, in frame units, by a scanner 11 to convert them into electric picture data to store those picture data into a main memory 21. A memory control section 2 controls read-out and write-in operations of the picture data obtained from the scanner 11 with respect to the main memory 21. Further, the memory control section 2 controls the write-in and read-out operations of the picture data to thereby obtain inverted picture data in which (relative position of) the picture data is inverted in regard to upper and lower directions thereof. A system control section 5 controls the memory control section 2 in accordance with inverting command from a keyboard 6 so as to obtain inverted picture data. Since the write-in or read-out operation of the picture data with respect to the main memory 21 is controlled by the system control section 5 so as to invert (relative position of) picture data in regard to upper and lower directions thereof in accordance with the inverting command from the keyboard 6, in the case where inverted picture in which the upside is turned down is displayed on a display section 7, the inverting command is given, thereby making it possible to display, on the display section 7, erecting (normally standing) pictures of respective frames in which relative position in regard to upper and lower directions is inverted, and to record the erecting pictures of respective frames onto a recording medium by a disc drive 42.
