摘要: A process for making a foam control composition comprising a cross-linked polyorganosiloxane in which is dispersed a filler, with hydrophobic surface, comprising step (A) mixing (i) a finely divided filler, (ii) a polyorganosiloxane having on at least two reactive substituents, for example on average two reactive substituents, and (iii) a polyorganosiloxane having at least three reactive substituents, capable of addition reaction via hydrosilylation; (B) hydrosilylation reaction of components (ii) and (iii) until the mixture at least partially gels, followed by applying shearing forces to this at least partially gelled mixture. Optionally step (A) comprises a diluent or solvent and after step (B) an emulsification step is carried out to make the foam control composition into an O/W emulsion. Also a process for controlling foam in an aqueous environment by using a foam control composition according to the invention, selected from inks, coatings, paints, detergents, black liquor of from those encountered during pulp and paper manufacture, waste water treatment, textile dyeing processes or the scrubbing of natural gas.

摘要: A method of making silicone-based foam control agents comprising: i) preparing a polysiloxane containing polymer by the polymerisation of siloxane containing monomers and/or oligomers in the presence of an inert organopolysiloxane and/or an organic fluid, a suitable catalyst and optionally an end-blocking agent; ii) where required quenching the polymerisation process; wherein the inert organopolysiloxane and/or organic fluid is substantially retained within the resulting diluted polysiloxane containing polymer; iii) introducing from 0.1 to 10% by weight of a suitable filler prior to during or subsequent to step (i); iv) optionally introducing up to 5% by weight of a suitable silicone resin during or subsequent to step (i) and v) where required, adapting the foam control agent produced in steps (i) to (iv) into a suitable form of delivery therefor.

摘要: A granulated product comprises a liquid organosilicon compound supported on a particulate carrier which is agglomerated into granules by a binder. A process for the production of a granulated product comprises depositing an organosilicon compound and a binder in a liquid state on a particulate carrier and subjecting the carrier thus treated to conditions in which the binder is solidified, thereby agglomerating carrier particles into granules. The particulate carrier is anhydrous sodium sulfate of mean particle size 1 to 40 μm.

摘要: In a process for separating a solid material from a suspension of the solid material in water, an organopolysiloxane polyalkylene oxide copolymer comprising a branched organopolysiloxane structure is added to the suspension of solid material in water and the suspension is drained. The organopolysiloxane polyalkylene oxide copolymer comprising a branched organopolysiloxane structure increases the rate of drainage of the suspension.

摘要: Foam control compositions herein can be used in aqueous compositions that are liable to foam. The foam control compositions is added to detergent compositions, particularly detergent powders, to inhibit excessive foaming when the detergent is used in washing. In particular, the foam control composition contains a non-silicon-containing organic liquid, a branched siloxane resin, a particulate filler which is insoluble in the organic liquid, and an additive composition of melting point 35 to 100° C. that is substantially non-polar organic material which is miscible with the organic liquid.
