    摘要: The present invention provides a molded product composed of a polymer alloy of a polyamide polymer and at least one polyurethane polymer, polyurea polymer, and/or polyisocyanurate polymer. The polymer alloy is an interpenetrated network of different polymers, a semi-interpenetrating network of different polymers, or a polyblend of different polymers.Reactant streams containing the compounds for forming the polymers of the polymer alloy are admixed to form a reaction mixture. The liquid reaction mixture is preferably a substantially homogeneous mixture of the reactant compounds. Each reactant stream thus contains only a portion of the components required to obtain the polymer alloy product. The resulting mixture is then rapidly introduced into a mold wherein chemical reaction takes place and the polymer alloy forms. Preferably, the mold is heated. The solid polymer alloy product is then recovered from the mold.

    摘要: An improved process for the preparation of heat resistant copolymers of an alpha-methylstyrene and acrylonitrile by polymerization thereof in aqueous emulsion, and in the presence of a free-radical-supplying compound and a chain-transfer agent. The polymerization reaction is insufficiently cooled to remove all of the released reaction heat, and in combination therewith the polymerization is conducted at a temperature of the aqueous emulsion maintained at a level of at most 110.degree., while further maintaining the mean rate of temperature increase per hour, v, at a value of at most 60.degree. C. per hour, wherein v is determined by the formula: ##EQU1## in which: T.sub.m =maximum temperature of the aqueous emulsion (.degree.C.),T.sub.o =temperature of the aqueous emulsion at the start of the polymerization (.degree.C.)t.sub.m =time in hours at which T.sub.m is reached, andt.sub.o =time in hours at which the polymerization is started whereby the rate of monomer conversion is maximized.

    摘要: The invention relates to a heat resistant polymer composition based on one or more graft copolymers of styrene and acrylonitrile on a rubber and a copolymer of .alpha.-methylstyrene and acrylonitrile.This composition comprises:A.     摘要: The invention relates to a process for preparing an N-substituted carbamoyl-lactam compound having the formula: ##STR1## by admixing a polyhydroxy compound having the formula R(OH).sub.n with a polyisocyanate having the formula OCH--R'--NCO, wherein saidn has a value of at least 3,R' is a di-valent hydrocarbon group having 6-25 carbon atoms, andY is a C.sub.3 -C.sub.14 alkylene group,and reacting the product thereof with a lactam. The n value may advantageously range from 3 to 10. The invention also relates to certain novel n-substituted carbamoyl-lactam compounds which can advantageously be used in the preparation of nylon 6 block copolymers, and are particularly useful in reaction injection molding nylon 6.

    摘要: An improved process for the preparation of copolymers by the polymerization of from about 25 to 85 parts by weight of a styrene and/or .alpha.-methylstyrene monomer together with about 15-75 parts by weight of acrylonitrile and/or methacrylonitrile monomer in an aqueous dispersion in the presence of a compound yielding free radicals is disclosed whereby the quantity of monomer remaining in the copolymer after polymerization is substantially reduced. A compound yielding water-soluble free radicals is added to the aqueous reaction medium, containing copolymer as well as non-converted monomer, in a quantity of between about 0.05 and 2.5 parts per 100 parts by weight of monomer and copolymer present in the reaction medium, at a point of time at which (a) the rate of conversion of monomer to copolymer is less than 15% per hour, (b) the degree of conversion of monomer to copolymer is greater than 75%, and (c) at least 0.1 weight percent of non-converted acrylonitrile and/or methacrylonitrile relative to the total weight of the reaction medium, remains in the reaction medium, and whereafter no additional monomer is added.
