Abstract:
A heating system for use on an exhaust system having an exhaust gas passageway, the engine having a cooling system to circulate a cooling fluid to and from the engine, includes a fuel-dosing member for dosing fuel to the exhaust system to trigger a regeneration event. A particulate filter is located on the exhaust gas passageway downstream of the engine, and an oxidation catalyst member is located upstream from the particulate filter. The oxidation catalyst member oxidizes the fuel dosed to increase the temperature of the exhaust gases. The increased temperature causes a regeneration event at the particulate filter, which further increases the temperature of the exhaust gases. A heat exchanger is located downstream of the particulate filter for capturing heat from the exhaust gases. The heat exchanger has an inlet conduit and an outlet conduit for circulating the cooling fluid from the heat exchanger to the engine cooling system.
Abstract:
A dry bulk unloading apparatus for transferring bulk material from a storage facility to a transport vehicle includes a pair of pivotally interconnected upper and lower screw conveyors. The upper screw conveyor is pivotally connected at its receiving end on a vertical axis to the storage facility and is pivotally connected at its discharge end on a vertical axis to the receiving end of a lower screw conveyor. The conveyors each have an auger driven by an electric motor and electric motors are provided to pivot the upper screw conveyor relative to the storage facility and to pivot the lower screw conveyor relative to the upper screw conveyor. A hand held controller may be used for remote control of the electric motors.
Abstract:
An integrated circuit chip carrier is made of plastics material, such as glass/epoxy printed circuit board material, and comprises a base and a side wall attached to the top surface of the base to define a chip mounting cavity. Conductor tracks on the base extend from connecting pads inside the cavity to connecting points on the periphery of the carrier. The chip carrier can be fabricated as one of an array of such carriers for subsequent separation.

Abstract:
A method for enabling a truck having an electrical system that can accept shore power to be supplied with shore power is provided. While the truck is stationary, an electric cable is connected between the truck's electrical system and an APU of a second truck that not only can deliver AC electricity to electrical loads in the second truck and also can export AC electricity as shore power. A condition precedent to enabling the APU to export AC electricity to the truck that can accept shore power is confirmed via a communication link between the two trucks. Upon confirmation of the condition, the APU is enabled to export AC electricity to the truck that can accept shore power.

A system for deploying a barrier deterring approach by pedestrians to the exhaust outlet from a vehicle operates in response to exhaust temperature and stopping of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A vehicle charge air cooler having an exhaust gas recirculation mixer integrated into the inlet, inlet manifold, outlet, or outlet manifold takes advantage of the incremental tooling opportunities associated with those components, as well as reducing the number of components and potential leak points in the exhaust gas recirculation system.

A heating system for use on an exhaust system of a vehicle having an exhaust gas passageway to emit exhaust gases from an engine to an outlet includes a quasi black body heat collector. The heat collector is located on the exhaust gas passageway for capturing heat from the exhaust gases. The heating system includes an inlet conduit for circulating air from the HVAC system of the vehicle to the heat collector. The air is heated at the heat collector, and an outlet conduit circulates the heated air back to the HVAC system.

A centralized control system linked to vehicles by wireless two way communication utilizes position information reported by the vehicles to select a fuel injection limiting map for use by the vehicles and downloads the selection, or authorization to use a map already stored on the vehicle.
