    摘要: A system may have an external display that presents content to viewers outside of the system. The external display may have a display panel with an array of pixels formed from light-emitting diodes. Optical films that help collimate and homogenize light from the light-emitting diode pixels may overlap the light-emitting diodes. A transparent cover may overlap the display. The transparent cover may have an outer surface and an opposing inner surface. The outer surface and inner surface may be planar or may have a curved cross-sectional profile. An optical louver layer or other solar rejection layer may be interposed between the inner surface of the transparent cover and the display panel. The louver layer may have a series of elongated parallel louvers formed from an opaque polymer or other material. The louvers may be configured to block sunlight reflections while allowing images on the display panel to be viewed.

The projection display may include an adjustable diffuser, a spatial light modulator that projects images onto the adjustable diffuser, a mirror that reflects the images from the spatial light modulator to the adjustable diffuser, and a light source that provides light to the spatial light modulator. The projection display may also include an adjustable opacity layer that is controlled based on detected ambient light levels. The projection display may also include an adjustable reflectivity layer. The adjustable diffuser and/or light source may be pixelated to increase contrast in the projection display.

    摘要: A privacy film may have a light-blocking layer that is interposed between first and second transparent substrates. The light-blocking layer may have a plurality of opaque portions and a plurality of transparent portions. The opaque portions may be shaped to ensure light from the display is directed only to the primary viewer of the display. Each opaque portion of the light-blocking layer may extend along a respective longitudinal axis between the first and second transparent substrates. Privacy films used to cover curved displays may have opaque portions that extend along longitudinal axes that have different angles relative to the transparent substrates. Opaque portions in the edge of the privacy film may have longitudinal axes that are at non-perpendicular angles with respect to the transparent substrates. A privacy film for a curved display may also include a light-redirecting layer such as a prism layer or a liquid crystal layer.
