    摘要: An ink jet recording head of high printing quality including a plurality of electro-thermal transducers arranged on a substrate corresponding to respective nozzles, wherein each protective layer placed on a resistor constituting each of the plurality of electro-thermal transducers has a thickness-reduced portion at a part thereof so as to increase the distance between the center point of the air bubble of each of the plurality of electro-thermal transducers to longer than the distance between the centers of gravity of each of the plurality of electro-thermal transducers. With the ink jet recording head, the relationship between the amount and the speed of ejected ink droplets can be optimized in accordance with the size of areas of the electro-thermal transducers.

    摘要: A liquid jet head for discharging liquid comprises a plurality of element boards each having electrothermal transducing elements to generate thermal energy for discharging liquid, and functional elements to drive the electrothermal transducing elements on one and the same board; and a circuit board having the wirings through which the functional elements input signals from or output signals to outside. Electrical connections are made so that the output signals from the element board are inputted to the adjacent element board through the circuit board. In this way, no connections are needed between chips in wire bonding to make the directions of bonding one-way, leading to a significantly increased efficiency of work on the wire connection. Also, with this structure, the adverse effect that would otherwise be produced on the element boards can be avoided in wire bonding, making it possible to miniaturize the element boards, and the head accordingly, and implement a highly densified nozzle arrangement for an elongated head.

    摘要: An ink jet apparatus includes an ink jet recording head having a housing, an ink container in the housing for containing ink, ejection outlets for ejecting the ink supplied from the ink container, and energy generating elements for generating energy contributable to the ejection of the ink through the ejection outlets, the housing being provided with a cavity. The ink jet recording head further comprises electric contacts for supplying the energy, the contacts being provided on a wall defining the cavity and a carriage on which the ink jet recording head is mounted, the carriage being provided with a contact member having electric contacts for electric coupling with the aforementioned contacts. The ink jet recording head is mounted on the carriage with the contact member being in the cavity. The housing is provided with a window extending from a cavity to permit observation of the contact member.

    摘要: A battery pack to be externally attached to a system body of a portable computer contains a plurality of batteries in two rows. A groove is formed on that portion of the top of the battery pack which correspond to the region between the rows of batteries. A hinge unit for swingably supporting a display unit is provided on the rear end of the system body of the computer in a manner such that it is partially housed in the groove of the battery pack. With this arrangement, the computer is reduced in thickness. The battery pack, which is connected to the rear end of the system body, is rotatable relatively to the system body. During use of the computer, therefore, a keyboard can be slightly declined toward a user by rotating the battery pack to raise the rear end of the system body.

    摘要: A recording head is equipped with a plurality of liquid discharge portions, each having a discharge opening for discharging ink, and a substrate. The substrate is provided with a plurality of electrothermal transducers for generating thermal energy to be utilized for discharging the ink supplied to the liquid discharging portions and a plurality of functional devices connected electrically to the electrothermal transducers. The plurality of functional devices are arranged in a direction diagonal relative to an arrangement direction of the plurality of electrothermal transducers within a region provided with a wiring portion and have different characteristic curves of saturated voltage versus temperature corresponding to the distance from the electrothermal transducers. The region includes common electrode wiring and selective electrode wiring for the plurality of electrothermal transducers and the plurality of functional devices. The plurality of electrothermal transducers are connected to the common electrode wiring. The wiring portion is formed essentially at a layer lower than the layer where the electrothermal transducers are formed.
