Abstract:
A process for producing mineral oil from underground mineral oil deposits, in which an aqueous formulation comprising at least one water-soluble, hydrophobically associating copolymer is injected through at least one injection well into a mineral oil deposit having a deposit temperature of 20° C. to 120° C. and crude oil is withdrawn from the deposit through at least one production well, wherein the water-soluble copolymer comprises at least acrylamide or derivatives thereof and a mixture comprising at least two amphiphilic macromonomers.
Abstract:
The present application relates to compositions comprising at least one acrylamide polymer P and at least one stabilizer S selected from sterically hindered amines; more particularly, the composition may be an aqueous solution comprising at least one acrylamide polymer P and at least one stabilizer S. In addition, the present invention relates to a process for producing the composition and to the use thereof in mineral oil production.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to water-soluble hydrophobically associating copolymers which are obtained in the presence of a nonpolymerizable surface-active compound and which comprise novel hydrophobically associating monomers. The monomers comprise an ethylenically unsaturated group and a polyether block, the polyether block comprising a hydrophilic polyethyleneoxy block and a hydrophobic polyalkyleneoxy block consisting of alkyleneoxy units having at least 4 carbon atoms. The monomers may optionally have a terminal polyethyleneoxy block. The invention further relates to processes for preparing the copolymers and to the use thereof.
Abstract:
A process for preparing water-soluble homo- or copolymers comprising (meth)acrylamide by free-radical polymerization of an aqueous solution of monoethylenically unsaturated monomers comprising at least (meth)acrylamide in the presence of at least one stabilizer for prevention of polymer degradation by molecular oxygen. The stabilizer is preferably one selected from the group of sulfur compounds, sterically hindered amines, N-oxides, nitroso compounds, aromatic hydroxyl compounds and ketones, more preferably 2-mercaptobenzothiazole or a salt thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing hydrophobically associating macromonomers M and to the novel macromonomers prepared by means of the process according to the invention. The macromonomers M comprise a copolymerizable, ethylenically unsaturated group and a polyether structure in block form, the latter consisting of a polyethyleneoxy block and a hydrophobic polyalkyleneoxy block consisting of alkyleneoxy units having at least 4 carbon atoms. Optionally, the macromonomers M may have a terminal polyethyleneoxy block. The macromonomers prepared by the process according to the invention are suitable for reaction with further monomers, especially with acrylamide, to give a water-soluble, hydrophobically associating copolymer.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition comprising (α) at least one inorganic binder and (β) at least one water-soluble copolymer based on (a) 0.1 to 20 wt % of at least one monomer of the formula (I) and (b) 25 to 99.9 wt % of at least one hydrophilic monomer (b) which is different from monomer (a), where the at least one copolymer has a molar mass average M of 1 500 000 to 30 000 000 g/mol. Furthermore, a process for producing this composition is disclosed. A further aspect of the present invention is the use of the copolymer of component (β) as rheological additive in a composition of the invention.
