摘要: Embodiments of the disclosure include methods and systems for attaching an articulation section. In an embodiment, a medical instrument includes a first tubular member including a first end. The medical instrument also includes a second tubular member including a first end. The second tubular member includes a plurality of layers including an inner layer and a first layer including a fluorinated material. The inner layer includes a first section disposed under the first layer and a second section extending out from under the first layer. A portion of the first tubular member overlaps and is bonded to at least a portion of the second section of the inner layer of the second tubular member.

摘要: A stent covering includes a polymeric tube having a first end, a second end and a length extending therebetween, the polymeric tube including an inner surface defining a lumen and an outer surface. A plurality of tissue ingrowth features are formed on the outer surface of the polymeric tube, at least some of the plurality of tissue ingrowth features including polymeric loops that extend above the outer surface such that, once implanted, tissue can grow between the outer surface and the polymeric loops. A stent may include such a stent covering.

摘要: A method for reducing mucus accumulation in an airway including disposing an implantable device within an airway, wherein the implantable device has a first end, a second end, and an inner surface defining a lumen extending from the first end to the second end; wherein at least a portion of the inner surface has a hydrophobic polymer coating thereon, wherein a polymer coating surface has dynamic water contact angles of 145 degrees or greater; and wherein the implantable device is constructed and arranged to maintain patency of the airway; wherein accumulation of mucus is reduced as compared to a similar implantable device without the hydrophobic portion of the inner surface. An implantable medical device having a superhydrophobic surface and a method of making an implantable medical device having a superhydrophobic surface are also provided. An implantable medical device having a micropatterned surface with enhanced adhesion to tissue, optionally in combination with other region(s) having a superhydrophobic surface and a method of making such a device. Methods and devices for prevention of bacterial adhesion to implanted medical devices.

摘要: The invention is directed to an anti-migratory stent comprising a tubular structure having an exterior surface and a plurality of protrusions provided on the exterior surface. The plurality of protrusions includes a first set of protrusions and a second set of protrusions. Each of the first and second set of protrusions includes a base and an apex. The apex of each of the first set of protrusions is offset from the base of the first set of protrusions in a direction opposite a direction of offset of the apex of each of the second set of protrusions from the base of the second set of protrusions.

摘要: An endoprosthesis, such as a stent, having anti-migration features. The endoprosthesis includes an expandable tubular framework including a plurality of strut rows and a plurality of connectors extending across interstices between adjacent strut rows and interconnecting adjacent strut rows. The strut rows have an outer diameter in an expanded state and the connectors extend radially outward beyond the outer diameter of the strut rows in the expanded state. The connectors are configured to engage a wall of a body lumen in the expanded state to inhibit migration of the endoprosthesis in the body lumen. The endoprosthesis may include a polymeric cover covering the strut rows and spanning the interstices between adjacent strut rows, while a space between the connectors and the strut rows to which the connectors are interconnected with is devoid of the polymeric cover to permit tissue ingrowth around the connectors.

摘要: An endoprosthesis may include an expandable tubular framework expandable from a compressed state to an expanded state and include a plurality of strut rows, wherein adjacent strut rows define interstices spacing the adjacent strut rows apart, and a plurality of connectors extending across the interstices and interconnecting adjacent strut rows, at least some of the plurality of connectors defining a flexible hinge portion. The lengths of the interstices between adjacent strut rows may vary along the length of the expandable tubular framework. The plurality of connectors extend radially outward beyond an outer diameter of the plurality of strut rows in the expanded state. The plurality of connectors are configured to engage a wall of a body lumen in the expanded state to inhibit migration of the endoprosthesis subsequent implanting the endoprosthesis in the body lumen.

摘要: A stent of the present disclosure has a variable radial force along the longitudinal length of the stent. In particular, the radial force of the center is greater than the radial force of the ends of the stent. Without being bound by theory, the radial force is affected by the strut angle θ, the wall thickness t, the number of strut pairs, and combinations thereof. In one aspect of the present disclosure, the stent has a variable strut angle θ, a variable wall thickness t, and a variable number of strut pairs. By adjusting the strut angle θ, the wall thickness t, and the number of strut pairs of the serpentine bands, the stent will have a variable radial force without the need for additional processing steps.
