摘要: A scanning tomography system has a gantry including a disk for supporting a X-ray source and detector array and rotatable about a central axis. Multiple scans are made to reduce the effects of motion artifacts and improve image quality. In addition, the detector array is supported by a suspension system and is movable about the focal spot of the X-ray source a small amount so that in one mode of operation the detector array can be shifted at a predetermined angle from one position to at least one other position during a scan so as to provide an increase in the number of unique X-ray paths so as to provide improved image quality. In a second mode of operation, the detector array can be offset from the center ray so as to provide a quarter of a detector offset.

摘要: The invention provides a system for and method of precalibrating the position of the focal spot of an X-ray tube before its installation in a CT scanner system so that the focal spot of the tube is properly aligned with the off-focal aperture, slice-defining aperture and detectors of the scanner system. The precalibration is performed using an interface registration support that receives the X-ray tube and supports the X-ray tube on a mount provided in either the precalibration system or the scanner system. The mount of the precalibration system duplicates the mount of the scanner system, so that desired position of the focal spot in the scanner system relative to the scanner system mount is duplicated in the precalibration system relative to the precalibration system mount. Adjustments in the position of the focal spot are carried out by measuring any displacement of the focal spot of the X-ray tube relative to an interface registration support which is referenced to the desired position of the focal spot by registering the registration support to the mount of the precalibration system. The as-adjusted X-ray tube and its interface registration support can then be installed in the CT scanner without the need for subsequent calibration adjustments. Additional testing of the X-ray tube can also be provided.

摘要: Preassembled detector modules, each containing several detectors, and preassembled anti-scatter modules, each containing several anti-scatter plates, are mounted on a spine, which is attached to the rotating gantry of a CAT scanner by adjustable end supports. A pair of dowel pins in accurately drilled reference holes in the spine control the location and alignment of each module, one in a module round hole and one in a module slot. Critical dimensions in the modules are referenced to the hole, the slot, and reference surfaces on the modules contact the spine so as to reduce tolerance build-up. As such the modules can be easily manufactured using standard machine tools, and easily assembled and secured to a rotatable disk of a tomographic system.

摘要: Temperature control of solid state detectors carried on the rotating gantry of computed tomography equipment is impractical for very detailed images. The temperatures of all of the detectors in the array can be equalized, however, by closely coupling them to a thermally massive object and isolating this combination from the environment. Significant thermal gradients are thereby removed from the array, and time is removed as a calibrating factor. The detectors are mounted on a common heat sink which provides the thermal mass, and the heat sink is covered with insulation and attached to the gantry by thermally isolating mounts, such as thin flexible stainless steel plates.

摘要: The present subject matter is directed to electronic circuitry and associated hardware configured to electronically control directional signals, i.e., neutral, forward and reverse signals, to the transmission of a watercraft. The circuitry provides for electronic control of the throttle position of the watercraft engine and electronic override of the transmission shifting circuitry to allow throttling up (i.e., revving) of the engine without placing the transmission into gear. In an alternative embodiment, directional control is effected by operation of a lever mechanism and override functionality is effected by manual disengagement of a drive mechanism for the directional control while maintaining operation of the electronic throttle control.

摘要: A digital repository 20 includes data items. A user can add additional functionality or program routines to data item by including as a data item a data processing identifier pointing to at least one data processing routine. Such routines are accessed by a client 22 by sending from a client to the digital repository 20 a request to access a data item, wherein the repository provides an interface description document 32 from the digital repository 20 to the client 22 as the response to the request. 摘要: The present invention comprises systems and methods for preventing collisions between aircraft and ground vehicles. In one embodiment, a system includes a proximity detection unit and a transducer proximate to a selected structural portion of an aircraft, the proximity detection unit being operable to emit ranging signals through the transducer and to receive reflected signals through the transducer to determine the position of an object within a ranging area adjacent to the structural portion. The system further includes an alarm device coupled to the proximity detection unit that is responsive to a signal generated by the proximity detection unit. In another embodiment, a method includes determining a distance between the ground service vehicle and a selected structural portion of the aircraft when the vehicle is positioned in a ranging area about the aircraft. The method further includes generating a proximity alarm based upon the distance.
