摘要: An improved process for the catalytic dehydrogenation of paraffinic hydrocarbons is disclosed. Feed paraffinic hydrocarbons are dehydrogenated to yield an olefin containing vapor stream which is partially condensed to produce a liquid phase process stream which contains byproduct diolefins along with the intended product monoolefins. The liquid phase process stream in admixture with hydrogen and a sulfur compound is passed through a selective hydrogenation zone in which diolefins are catalytically converted to monoolefins. This selective hydrogenation in the presence of trace quantities of a sulfur compound increases the quality of the product monoolefin stream. The selective hydrogenation zone is located between the vapor-liquid separator and the stripper column of the dehydrogenation zone.

摘要: A process for removal of trace impurities of hydrides of arsenic, phosphorus, antimony, silicon, and boron and sulfur and oxygenates and compounds containing these impurities from a hydrocarbon stream comprising contacting the hydrocarbon stream with an adsorbent material selected from the group consisting of zeolites and promoted alumina to adsorb compounds containing sulfur and/or oxygenates, contacting the hydrocarbon stream with an adsorbent material comprising one or more active metal oxides to remove the hydrides and contacting the hydrocarbon stream with an adsorbent material that removes water.

摘要: A process is presented which is useful for the selective hydrogenation of polyunsaturated organic compounds. The resultant product of such a reaction produces the monoolefinic equivalents of the hydrogenated polyunsaturated organic compounds. The catalyst used in this selective hydrogenation process comprises nickel and sulfur deposited on the surface of an alumina support. The preferred catalyst does not contain halogens, noble metals, alkaline earth metals, or alkali metals and is characterized by having only a very low percentage of the total pore volume being provided by pores having an average pore diameter less than 150 angstroms. The great majority of the pore volume is present in the form of macropores having diameters of 500 to 1500 angstroms.

摘要: The invention is a hydrocracking process which employs a small reactor-containing hydrotreating catalyst to reduce the recombinant mercaptan content and/or smoke point of a product recovered from the effluent of the hydrocracking reactor. The entire effluent of the hydrocracking reactor is first cooled by indirect heat exchange and then passed through the hydrotreating catalyst. The effluent of the hydrotreating catalyst then continues throughout the customary cooling and separation steps employed in the product recovery system.

摘要: A composition is presented for a catalyst useful in the selective hydrogenation of unconjugated diolefinic hydrocarbons to monoolefinic hydrocarbons. 摘要: A two stage hydrocracking process is characterized by operation of the second hydrocracking zone at a reduced pressure, which is conducive to cracking the highly paraffinic effluent of the first hydrocracking zone. The process is also characterized by the passage of the partially compressed hydrogen makeup gas stream into the second hydrocracking zone followed by compressing the gas recovered from the second hydrocracking zone effluent to form the makeup gas to the first stage hydrocracking zone. There is no recycle gas stream for the second hydrocracking zone.

摘要: Methods and apparatuses for processing a renewable feedstock are provided herein. In an embodiment, a method for processing a renewable feedstock includes deoxygenating a stream of the renewable feedstock at a first pressure to form a stream of paraffins. The pressure of the stream of paraffins is reduced to a second pressure which is at least about 345 kPa less than the first pressure. Further, normal paraffins in the stream of paraffins are converted to form a stream of converted paraffins.

摘要: Methods are disclosed for the treatment of feedstocks comprising a fatty acid- or triglyceride-containing component to remove contaminants that are detrimental to the conversion of such feedstocks to hydrocarbons, and especially biofuel fractions such as diesel or aviation biofuels. Contaminants contributing to the presence of trace elements in animal fats and/or plant oils, as components of feedstocks, hinder the ability to catalytically convert these feedstocks, for example by hydroprocessing, to biofuels.
