    Abstract: Methods and systems of segmenting computing devices in a wireless network having an access point broadcasting in a single domain are described. In an exemplary method, a request to join the wireless network is received from a computing device. The request is associated with an identifier. When the identifier is not associated with a virtual network within the wireless network, a virtual network is configured within the wireless network and the identifier is associated thereto and the computing device is assigned thereto. When the identifier is associated with an existing virtual network within the wireless network, the computing device is assigned to the existing virtual network.

    Abstract: A service type announcement element indicates one or more service types offered by an access point (AP) that supports station a wireless network. The service type announcement element is generated by the AP and included in a beacon frame or in a probe response frame. The beacon frame or the probe response frame is transmitted by the AP and received by a mobile device prior to the mobile device being associated with the AP. The mobile device makes a determination whether any of the one or more service types can assist with an operation of an application on the mobile device and implements a network selection algorithm based on the determination.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for connecting a wireless device to a wireless network. Configuration information is received by an access point of the wireless network including a service identifier corresponding to a service provided through the wireless device and a credential associated with the wireless device. The access point advertises the service identifier to the wireless device. The access point receives from the wireless device an association request including a network identifier corresponding to the wireless network. The access point authenticates the wireless device based on the service identifier and the credential.

    Abstract: A communication system and method for supporting a plurality of vehicle-to-everything radio access technologies (V2X RATs) is provided. The communication system configured to support multiple V2X RATs transmits, using a first V2X RAT, an indication of its availability to support an interworking function between the plurality of V2X RATs. The communication system receives an instruction to provide the interworking function between different V2X RATs. The interworking function may be incorporated in a vehicle that is joined to a platoon configured to use a first V2X RAT, and provide the interworking function between the first and a second V2X RAT. The interworking function may be used to add further vehicles to the platoon that communicate using only the second V2X RAT.
