Abstract: An implantable device having an expandable element, such as a balloon, exerting a radially-outwardly directed anti-migration force to hold the implantable device in place. The implantable device occlusion device may be an occlusion device configured to be inserted through a body passage. The implantable device may include a first component and a second component expandable within a lumen of the first component to exert an antimigration force against the first component. The first component may be an expandable stent coated to resist tissue ingrowth, and the second component may be an expandable balloon configured to exert an anti-migration force against the expandable stent.

Abstract: An implantable medical device system having at least two implantable medical devices coupled together with a connector while implanted at a common anatomical region. The connector allows the implantable medical devices to anchor one another in place at respective deployment sites. Moreover, the connector may function as a safety device by causing one implantable medical device to migrate upon migration of another implantable medical device. For instance, if migration of an implantable medical device causes a structural change in the common anatomical region, such change may be generally reversible upon migration of the other implantable medical device as a result of the implantable medical devices being coupled via the connector.

Abstract: An implantable medical device, such as a stent, having a dynamic feature allowing movement of one or both of the ends of the implantable medical device relative to the intermediate section therebetween. The implantable medical device may be sized, shaped, configured, and/or dimensioned to hold anatomical structures in apposition. The dynamic section allows relative movement of the apposed anatomical structures without causing migration of the ends of the implantable medical device which are anchored with respect to the anatomical structures.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, devices and procedures for forming flow paths within or across body lumens. In one example, a stent comprises an elongate body configured to expand between a first constrained configuration and a second unconstrained configuration. The elongate body in the second unconstrained configuration may include a first end, a second end, and a cylindrical saddle region extending therebetween. The first end may comprise a first retention member and a second retention member, and the second end may comprise a third retention member and a fourth retention member.

Abstract: An occlusion device having a lumen defined therethrough and a saddle narrower than saddles of prior occlusion devices or stents to allow provision of an occlusion element with respect to a portion of the saddle to occlude flow of materials through the saddle. The inner diameter of the narrowed saddle may be 6 mm or less. The occlusion element may be formed from a material which plugs a portion of the occlusion device lumen extending through the saddle and/or which restrains a portion of the saddle from expanding thereby occluding flow of materials therethrough. The remainder of the saddle and/or inwardly facing surfaces of at least one retention member extending outwardly along an end of the saddle may be configured to promote tissue ingrowth, such as by remaining uncoated.

Abstract: Stents and/or implants including a reinforcement member. An illustrative transluminal implant may include an elongated tubular body extending from first end region to a second end region. The elongated tubular body may comprise a scaffolding forming a plurality of cells, a first flange adjacent to the first end region, a second flange adjacent to the second end region, and a saddle region extending between the first flange and the second flange. The saddle region may have an outer diameter less than an outer diameter of the first flange and the second flange. A reinforcement member may be disposed within a lumen of the elongated tubular body and within the first flange.

Abstract: Engageable stents disclosed herein may include an outer stent comprising an elongate body configured to be expandable between a constrained configuration and an unconstrained configuration. The elongate body in the unconstrained configuration may include a retention member and a cylindrical saddle region adjacent the retention member, the cylindrical saddle region defining a lumen extending along a longitudinal axis of the outer stent. The retention member of the outer stent may comprise a double-walled flange. The engageable stents may include an inner stent comprising an elongate body configured to be expandable between a constrained configuration and an unconstrained configuration. The elongate body in the unconstrained configuration may include a retention member and a cylindrical saddle region adjacent the retention member. The retention member of the inner stent may comprise a double-walled flange. The retention members of the outer and inner stent may be removably engageable with each other.

Abstract: A mesh element having a mesh gauge selected to control flow of materials therethrough. The mesh element is implantable into an anatomical structure upstream of a body passage or within a body passage to control flow of materials through the body passage. The mesh element may be coupled to a support structure to facilitate anchoring of the mesh element in place relative to the body passage. The support structure may have a lumen defined therethrough to allow flow of materials through the body passage, with the mesh element regulating the flow of materials into the lumen. The mesh element alternatively may be directly coupled to an anatomical structure upstream of a body passage to regulate or determine flow of materials through the body passage.
