This is an electrophotographic marking system that effectively cleans residual toner and toner additives from the surface of a photoreceptor. This cleaning process reduces ghosting problems that had been encountered in final copies produced by electrophotographic systems such as in copiers, printers and duplicators. This cleaning is accomplished by expedients such as increasing a cleaning brush bias, and by increasing the surface area of cleaning brushes used in the system. In addition, the development process is desensitized to the development of ghosting. This desensitizing is accomplished by expedients such as increasing the gap between the development roll and the photoreceptor and by reducing the AC development electrical bias.

A development subsystem is used to develop developer having semiconductive carrier particles and toner particles. The development subsystem includes a developer housing, for retaining a quantity of developer having semiconductive carrier particles and toner particles, a first magnetic roll having a stationary core with at least one magnet and a sleeve that rotates about the stationary core of the first magnetic roll, a second magnetic roll having a stationary core with at least one magnet and a sleeve that rotates about the stationary core of the second magnetic roll, and a motor coupled to the first and the second magnetic rolls to drive the rotating sleeves of the first and the second magnetic rolls in a direction that is against the direction of a photoreceptor that rotates in proximity to the first and the second magnetic rolls. The first and the second magnetic rolls carry semiconductive carrier particles and toner particles through a development zone formed by the first and the second magnetic rolls.

A developer includes black toner particles and carrier particles, the black toner particles including at least one binder, at least one black colorant and one or more external additives, wherein the toner particles comprise from about 7 to about 15 pph of the developer, and wherein the toner particles exhibit a triboelectric charge of from about −25 to about −50 μC/g at toner particle concentrations of about 7 to about 15 pph of the developer. The developer is ideally suited for use in a high speed (greater than 100 prints per minute) semiconductive magnetic brush development apparatus. Preferably, the black toner particles include a styrene acrylate binder, and the external additives include from about 1.3 to about 2.1% by weight of the toner particles of a first silica having an average particle size of from about 35 to about 45 nm, from about 0.5 to about 1.0% by weight of the toner particles of a second silica having an average particle size of from about 135 to about 160 nm, and from about 0.2 to about 0.5% by weight of the toner particles of a titania having an average particle size of from about 35 to about 45 nm, with an external additive toner surface area coverage of from about 25 to about 45%.

A security alarm monitor is disclosed that uses a combination of three dimensional (3D) and two dimensional (2D) visualization to display the status of security devices and allow the operator to respond to alarms. The alarm monitor console includes 3D and 2D display areas, either in a split screen on a single monitor or on dual monitors. The 3D display area uses a photo-realistic representation of a facility and overlays iconic or 3D representations of the security devices showing their locations, coverage areas, and alarm status. The 2D display area shows a map, architectural drawing, image-based overhead view, or combination or the three for a facility and security device icons. The alarm representations in the 2D and 3D display areas are synchronized. The 3D display gives a dynamic view of the facility or compound. When an alarm occurs, the 3D display flies to preprogrammed view of the alarm location, issues a preprogrammed audio alert, and animates the alarm icon to indicate its status.

Shims used to join part assemblies are automatically designed and fabricated without the need for fitting part assemblies together in order to determine the exact dimensions of voids filled by the shims. The locations of key features on part assemblies are surveyed using a merged photogrammetry and laser tracking technique that generate the dimensions of a virtual shim. The dimensions of the virtual shim are contained in a digital file that can be used to automatically fabricate the shim using automated fabrication equipment such as a CNC machining center. The automated virtual shim design may be modified to reflect the effect of part assembly fit on performance characteristics of the aircraft.

A convertible tow dolly supported upon a towing vehicle when in an elevated and non-use position. The dolly includes an elongated tubular support having a first end pivotally secured to a first bracket fixedly engaged to a hitch associated with a towing vehicle. A wheeled and crosswise extending portion exhibits a secondary bracket which is pivotally secured a second end of the elongated tubular support and which is locked into position to prevent up and down articulation relative to the brackets and for supporting a towed vehicle upon the crosswise extending portion in a use position. The elongated support is unlocked at the brackets, such as by removal of first and second clevis pins, to permit folding about the first and second pivotal connections and in a direction towards the towing vehicle, concurrent with elevating the wheeled and crosswise extending portion to a subsequently locked and non-use position.
