A method for producing a nonaqueous composition for external use on the skin including a strongly hydrophilic amphiphilic solid active ingredient-surfactant complex dissolved or dispersed in an oil phase, the method including the steps of: dissolving a surfactant in an oil phase to obtain a surfactant solution; mixing the obtained surfactant solution with a strongly hydrophilic amphiphilic solid active ingredient to obtain a suspension; and allowing the obtained suspension to stand still to obtain a transparent composition. Unlike conventional methods for preparing S/O formulations, the strongly hydrophilic amphiphilic solid active ingredient can be solubilized in an oil phase without the process of emulsification and freeze drying.

To efficiently and selectively recover scandium from an acid solution containing calcium, magnesium and scandium. In the present invention, an acid solution containing calcium, magnesium and scandium is brought into contact with a scandium recovering resin impregnated with an amide derivative represented by the following general formula for an hour or more. In the formula, R1 and R2 each represent the same or different alkyl groups. The alkyl group can be a straight chain or a branched chain. R3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group. R4 represents a hydrogen atom or any group other than an amino group, which is bound to the α carbon as an amino acid. The amide derivative is preferably any one or more of glycinamide derivatives, histidinamide derivatives, lysinamide derivatives and aspartic acid amide derivatives.

Provided is a method for efficiently purifying scandium by separating scandium and impurities from an acidic solution which contains scandium and impurities that include iron. A method for purifying scandium according to the present invention subjects an acidic solution, which contains an element component including at least ion, while containing scandium, to solvent extraction by means of a mixed extractant containing a phosphoric acid-based extractant and a neutral extractant, thereby extracting scandium from the acidic solution. It is preferable that the phosphoric acid-based extractant is contained in the mixed extractant at a mixing molar ratio within the range of from 5% to 50% (inclusive). It is also preferable that the pH of the acidic solution is adjusted to a value within the range of from 0.0 to 2.0 (inclusive) before the solvent extraction.
