Abstract: Ethylene-based polymers having a density of 0.952 to 0.965 g/cm3, a high load melt index (HLMI) from 5 to 25 g/10 min, a weight-average molecular weight from 275,000 to 450,000 g/mol, a number-average molecular weight from 15,000 to 40,000 g/mol, a viscosity at HLMI from 1400 to 4000 Pa-sec, and a tangent delta at 0.1 sec−1 from 0.65 to 0.98 degrees. These polymers have the processability of chromium-based resins, but with improved stress crack resistance, and can be used in large-part blow molding applications.

Abstract: Ethylene-based polymers are generally characterized by a high load melt index of less than 12 g/10 min, a weight-average molecular weight from 200,000 to 550,000 g/mol, a number-average molecular weight from 18,000 to 48,000 g/mol, a CY-a parameter of less than 0.12, a tan δ at 0.1 sec−1 from 0.5 to 0.9 degrees, a tan δ at 100 sec−1 from 0.5 to 0.75 degrees, and a viscosity at 0.001 sec−1 from 1.3×106 to 1×107 Pa-sec. These ethylene polymers can be produced by peroxide-treating a bimodal molecular weight distribution dual metallocene-catalyzed resin, and can be used to produce blow molded bottles and other blow molded products.

Abstract: Ethylene-based polymers having a density of 0.952 to 0.968 g/cm3, a ratio of HLMI/MI from 185 to 550, an IB parameter from 1.46 to 1.80, a tan δ at 0.1 sec−1 from 1.05 to 1.75 degrees, and a slope of a plot of viscosity versus shear rate at 100 sec−1 from 0.18 to 0.28 are described, with low melt flow versions having a HLMI from 10 to 30 g/10 min and a Mw from 250,000 to 450,000 g/mol, and high melt flow versions having a HLMI from 30 to 55 g/10 min and a Mw from 200,000 to 300,000 g/mol. These polymers have the processability of chromium-based resins, but with improved stress crack resistance and topload strength for bottles and other blow molded products.

Abstract: Ethylene polymers having a density from 0.908 to 0.925 g/cm3, a melt index from 0.5 to 3 g/10 min, a ratio of Mw/Mn from 2 to 4, a ratio of Mz/Mw from 1.6 to 2.3, a CY-a parameter from 0.45 to 0.6, and an ATREF profile characterized by a single peak at a peak ATREF temperature from 76 to 88° C., and by less than 4.5 wt. % of the polymer eluting above a temperature of 91° C. These ethylene polymers can be used to produce various articles of manufacture, such as blown and cast films with a beneficial combination of high tear resistance and low haze.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are ethylene-based polymers generally characterized by a density from 0.89 to 0.93 g/cm3, a ratio of Mw/Mn from 3 to 6.5, a Mz from 200,000 to 650,000 g/mol, a CY-a parameter at 190° C. from 0.2 to 0.4, and a reverse short chain branching distribution. The ATREF profile of these polymers can have a high temperature peak from 92 to 102° C., and a low temperature peak from 18 to 36° C. less than that of the high temperature peak. These polymers can have comparable physical properties to that of a metallocene-catalyzed LLDPE, but with improved processability, shear thinning, and melt strength, and can be used in blown film and other end-use applications.

Abstract: Disclosed are ethylene polymer compositions containing a homogeneously-branched first ethylene polymer component and a homogeneously-branched second ethylene polymer component of higher density than the first ethylene polymer component. The ethylene polymer composition can be characterized by a density from 0.912 to 0.925 g/cm3, a melt index less than 3.5 g/10 min, and a CY-a parameter at 190° C. from 0.25 to 0.65. These polymer compositions have the excellent dart impact strength and optical properties of a metallocene-catalyzed LLDPE, but with improved machine direction tear resistance, and can be used in blown film and other end-use applications.

Abstract: A method of preparing a polymer article comprising determining a zero-shear viscosity for a polymer sample; sieving the polymer sample to produce a plurality of sieved polymer samples; determining a molecular weight distribution for each of the plurality of sieved polymer samples; determining a zero-shear viscosity for each of the plurality of sieved polymer samples; determining a compositional diversity of each of the plurality of sieved polymer samples based on a ratio of the zero shear viscosity for each of the plurality of sieved polymer samples to the zero shear viscosity for the polymer sample; identifying a polymer sample having a ratio of the zero shear viscosity to zero shear viscosity for the polymer sample of from about 0.5 to equal to or greater than about 3; and preparing a polymer article from the identified polymer sample.
