    Abstract: Disclosed is a chromatographic separation column assembly (100) comprising a column cylinder (120) having a cylinder wall (126) including an inner wall surface (124) partially defining a column volume (50), and a column component (110/130) insertable into to the cylinder (120), wherein at least an edge region (113/133) of the column component is intended to be in contact or adjacent a part of the inner wall surface (124) in use, the edge region and the contacting or adjacent part of inner wall surface each being formed from a compatible heat fusible material or materials, and wherein at least the cylinder wall in the area of the contacting or adjacent part of the inner wall is formed from a material which allows transmission of the light energy needed to cause said fusing of the adapter plate edge region to the inner wall surface.

    Abstract: Disclosed are chromatography systems employing a releasable coupling (100) for holding a fluid tubing to a spigot, the coupling comprising: a cylindrical inner component (110) for accepting a fluid tubing (30), said inner component including a resiliently deflectable portion (118) arranged to urge an outer surface of the tubing toward a spigot; and a cylindrical collar (130) having and internal through-aperture (132) for slideably accepting the inner component, the aperture and resilient portion having complementary surface formations which in a first position of the collar mounted to the inner component provide for said resilient deflection in use, and which in a second different position do not cause said deflection, the coupling being characterized in that the collar comprises a collar flange (134) extending outwardly away from the aperture of a size allowing manual manipulation of the collar between the first and second positions. Chromatography systems employing said couplings is disclosed also.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a fraction collector for dispensing liquids into plural receptacles (P1,P2) arranged in a two dimensional array. The fraction collector comprises a table (22) for supporting said receptacles, and an arm supported above the table, in tum supporting a liquid dispenser (35), the fraction collector arm is rotatable about an arm axis (C) and the liquid dispenser is movable along the arm on a carriage 34 (FIG. 2). Thereby, the dispenser is low cost and is repositionable simply above the receptacles as a result of said rotation and as a result of said movement along the arm, without occupying too much laboratory bench space.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a mixing device (9) comprising an inlet channel (25), an outlet channel (27), a mixing cavity (29) and a laminar mixing element (31) arranged within the mixing cavity. The inlet channel extends along an axis (21) of the mixing device from a first end (23) of the mixing device to the mixing cavity. The outlet channel extends along the axis from the mixing cavity to a second end (24) of the mixing device arranged opposite to the first end. The mixing cavity is arranged between the inlet channel and the outlet channel and extends in an axial direction (A) along the axis and in a radial direction (R) outwardly from the axis to an outer wall (30) of the mixing cavity. The laminar mixing element extends radially across the mixing cavity, subdividing the mixing cavity into an inlet portion (26) and an outlet portion (28). The mixing element comprises a plurality of holes (41) extending through the mixing element. The said holes are distributed over the mixing element.
