A film product and a method of making the same are provided, the film product comprising a metallocene catalyzed polypropylene and a tenacity of at least about 2.5 g/den is provided. The film product is capable of being drawn at a draw ratio of from about 5.0:1 to about 10.0:1. The film product is also capable of being processed into a slit tape product. A method of weaving a woven product from the slit tape product is also provided, wherein the woven product may have a tenacity within about 10.0 percent of the tenacity of the film product.

A random copolymer having improved mechanical toughness and properties suitable for thin wall thermoforming applications is provided. The random copolymer exhibits the following physical properties: a flexural modulus profile having a 2% flexural modulus of about 168,000 psi, a 1% flexural modulus of about 190,000 psi, and a 0.4% flexural modulus of about 199,000 psi; a melt flow rate of at least about 2.0 g/10 min.; and a haze of less than about 40%. The random copolymer preferably comprises a copolymer of ethylene and propylene, wherein the ethylene content is in the range of from about 0.2% to about 0.8% ethylene by weight of the copolymer. The random copolymer also preferably includes a stabilizer and a clarifying agent such as a sorbitol based clarifier or a nucleator. Various articles of manufacture such as thermoformed containers and packaging may be formed from the random copolymer.

A polyolefin resin, including a high crystalline polyolefin and a crystalline wax, may be used to prepare articles that are resistant to staining. In one embodiment, the resin is an admixture of high crystalline isotactic polypropylene and a polyethylene wax. The articles prepared therewith may be particularly resistant to food staining, including staining from contact with tomato products, and also resistant to scratching, odor adsorption, and distortion during heating.
