摘要: A mailbox system that is sturdy and durable, easy to manufacture, assemble and customize, and is aesthetically pleasing to look at. The mailbox system preferably includes a pair of vertical posts and horizontal rails, a decorative component such as a flag or flower box, a mailbox and a newspaper receptacle. When assembled, the horizontal rails and the decorative component span between and are supported by the vertical posts, while the mailbox and newspaper receptacle are mounted to a single post. Assembly of the mailbox system is made quick and easy through the use of a series of snap-fit assembly features.

摘要: An anti-theft and file security system for a portable electronic device that uses a wireless transceiver coupled to the electronic device, which detects an identifying RF signal produced by a wireless access point. In the preferred embodiment, the access point is connected to a local or wide area network within a geographical area in which the portable electronic device is operated. During use, the RF signal from the access point is detected by a wireless transceiver. Loaded into the memory of the electronic device is a software program that determines if the RF signal is produced by a recognized access point. If the RF signal produced by the access point is recognized, then the electronic device continues to operate and allows full access to secured files loaded thereon. If no RF signal is detected or if the detected RF signal is from a non-recognizable access point, then operation of the electronic device is terminated and/or access to the secured file is blocked.

摘要: In accordance with the present invention there is provided a biopsy device and method for the collection of at least one tissue sample from a surgical patient. The device includes a frame and an elongated piercing element attached to the distal end of the frame. The piercing element has distal end, a proximal end and a lumen extending at least partially therethrough. The piercing element has a sharpened member at its distal end for piercing tissue, and a port proximal thereto which exposes the lumen. The device further includes an elongated cutter and tissue remover disposed coaxially and slidably within the lumen of the piercing element for harvesting a tissue mass disposed within the port of the piercing element and depositing the tissue mass proximal to the port for retrieval. Lastly, the device includes a mechanism for automatically axially rotating the piercing element after severing a sample so multiple samples can be harvested about a longitudinal axis of the piercing element without manually rotating the piercing element.

摘要: A door latch assembly (10) for a glove box door (12) includes a pivot plate (16) mounted on the door and a latch handle (18) pivotally mounted on the pivot plate to move selectively between a latched position and an unlatched position. The handle (18) has a catch (20,22) to engage the glove box enclosure (14) when the latch handle is in a latched position, and disengage from the enclosure when the handle is in an unlatched position. A pair of specialized torsion springs (24) is molded to the pivot plate (16) to bias the latch handle (18) and the catch (20) into the engaged position.

摘要: An intravenous catheter introducer assembly having a safety feature to prevent accidental needle sticks. The introducer assembly includes a needle assembly having a groove disposed on its outer surface. The introducer includes a protector made of a hollow member having an open distal end and an inwardly disposed resilient flange or a clip disposed thereon. The protector is coaxially slidably disposed around the needle with the flange abutting the outer surface of the needle and adapted to engage the groove when a catheter assembly is removed from the needle.
