    摘要: A high pressure fuel supply pump which is driven by a cam connected to an engine is composed of a cylinder, a plunger slidably disposed in the cylinder, a tappet linked to the cam, a coil spring biasing the tappet against the cam, a cylindrical guide for the tappet, a plate member in abutment with head portion of the plunger, and a plurality of balls disposed between the plate member and the tappet to be slidable in directions perpendicular to the reciprocating motion of the plunger. Each of the balls shares the stress applied from the tappet.

    摘要: A high-pressure pump is formed with a secondary suction passage, which branches from a fuel suction passage and communicates with a pump chamber. Check valves for preventing a backflow of fuel are disposed respectively in the secondary suction passage and a discharge passage. An electromagnetic valve for regulating a fuel discharge quantity is disposed in the fuel suction passage. Normal control for controlling the fuel discharge quantity by controlling opening timing and closing timing of the electromagnetic valve with respect to reciprocating movement of a plunger is performed when an engine rotation speed is higher than a predetermined value during operation of an engine. Valve closing control for holding the electromagnetic valve at a closed state is performed when the engine rotation speed is equal to or lower than the predetermined value.

    摘要: A high pressure pump has a fuel passage and a pump chamber. Fuel flows into the pump chamber through the fuel passage. The high pressure pump includes a valve member and a plunger. The valve member is movable along a movable axis in a substantially axial direction of the valve member for controlling an amount of fuel flowing into the pump chamber through the fuel passage. The plunger is movable substantially along a movable axis in a substantially axial direction of the plunger. The plunger is capable of pressurizing fuel in the pump chamber to discharge fuel in the pump chamber. The movable axis of the valve member is displaced from the movable axis of the plunger substantially in parallel with each other.

    摘要: A delivery valve is connected to a discharge passage, through which fuel in a compression chamber is discharged. The delivery valve is screwed to a mount hole formed in the cylinder. A communication passage is formed in a body to extend through the sidewall between a screwed part, in which the mount hole and the body are screwed to each other, and a gasket. A small clearance is formed between an inner peripheral surface of the mount hole and an outer peripheral surface of the body. The communication passage provides communication between a fuel passage downstream of a valve seat member and the clearance. The clearance communicates with the suction chamber through a return passage formed in the cylinder.
