    摘要: Styryloxy compounds of the formula IV ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are H, or one of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is H and the other is methyl;R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 (which may be the same or different) are H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkenyl; or one of R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 may be --OR.sup.6 or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkoxy or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkenyloxy if R.sup.2 is not methyl;R.sup.6 is selected from the group consisting of: ##STR2## where R.sup.10 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl; and R.sup.11, R.sup.12 and R.sup.13, which may be the same or different, are H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl, are described as new low viscosity liquid styryloxy monomers which can be photocured and which form transparent polymers. They have an advantageous effect in a mixture with 4-allyloxystyrene, and this mixture has a synergistic effect in combination with divinyl ethers of a polyalkylene oxide.

C. for at least 5 seconds.

    摘要: Curable compositions include at least one monomer compound having both (meth)acrylic ester functionality and an allylic phenyl ether functional group on the same molecule, the allylic phenyl ether functional group having at least one unsubstituted position on the phenyl ring which is ortho or para to the allylic ether group, and a free radical catalyst system. The composition may also includes a latent thermally activated acid generator. Claisen Rearrangement of radically polymerized polymers produced from the compositions may be induced at temperatures of about 100° C. or more to give crosslinked products of improved thermal resistance. Novel monomers which may be used in such compositions are characterized by formulas I and II: where R1 is H or methyl; R2 is a direct bond, a group of the formula —NCnH2n-, or a group of the formula —(OCnH2n—)m— which when taken with the phenyl group to which it is attached forms a phenyl ether; n is 1-4 and m is 1-10; R3 is —CH2CH═CH2, —CH2C(CH3)═CH2, —CH2CH═CH(CH3), —CH2C(CH3)═CH(CH3), —CH2CH═C(CH3)2 or —CH2 CH═CH(C6H5); and R4 is a divalent allylic group, and wherein the compound is optionally substituted on a phenyl group thereof by an alkyl, alkoxy or halo group, provided that relative to the respective —OR3 or —OR4O — groups, at least one unsubstituted ortho or para position remains on an adjacent phenyl ring.

    摘要: An anisotropically-conductive film or a substrate having a surface coated with an anisotropically-conductive coating, said film or coating being formed by solidifying a composition comprising (i) a solidifiable ferrofluid composition, the ferrofluid comprising a colloidal suspension of ferromagnetic particles in a non-magnetic carrier, and (ii) a plurality of electrically-conductive particles, dispersed in the ferrofluid, the electrically-conductive particles having been arrayed in a non-random pattern by application of a substantially uniform magnetic field to the composition in a liquid state and having been locked in position by solidification of the composition. The composition is solidified in an A-stage, usually involving a primary cure. In end-use application of the film or coating, the composition usually undergoes a B-stage or secondary cure. The film or coated substrate is an article of manufacture for bonding conductors in the electronics industry.

    摘要: A process for sealing or adhering two surfaces having gaps of more than 100 micrometers between the surfaces which comprises:(A) applying to at least one of said surfaces an anaerobic composition comprising:(i) a room temperature polymerizable (meth)acrylic monomer,(ii) a peroxy free radical initiator, and(iii) an amount effective as an accelerator of a combination of saccharin and at least one onium salt (other than an iodide); and(B) placing said surfaces in an abutting relationship until the composition has cured through the gaps.Exemplified onium salts are phosphonium salts of the formula IV and quaternary ammonium salts of the formula II: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 which may be the same or different, are hydrocarbyl, hydrocarbylaryl, aryl or a substituted derivative thereof;X is Cl, Br or F, or a soft anion.
