    Abstract: Techniques for performing optimized handovers of a client device between access points in wireless networks are provided. A first access point exchanges packets with a client device. The first access point receives a disassociation notice from the client device. In response to the disassociation notice, the first access point buffers one or more packets received for the client device in a first buffer. The first access point receives an indication from a controller to transmit the one or more packets in the first buffer to a second access point. In response to the indication, the first access point transmits the one or more packets in the first buffer to the second access point.

    Abstract: Techniques for network communications are disclosed. These techniques include receiving a cryptographically generated device identifier (CGDI) and a public key relating to a wireless station (STA). The techniques further include determining a first hash based on decrypting the CGDI using the public key, and validating the first hash for an access network. The techniques further include identifying the STA in the access network using the CGDI based on binding the CGDI to a session associated with the STA and the access network.

    Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications are disclosed. The techniques include generating a provisioning domain (PVD) identifier by associating a roaming consortium organization identifier (RCOI), relating to an identity federation comprising an identity provider (IDP), with the PVD. The techniques further include providing PVD configuration information from the IDP to a wireless station (STA) associated with the IDP, using the PVD identifier. The techniques further include applying one or more configuration policies at the STA based on the PVD configuration information.

    Abstract: Dynamic policy mapping is provided via mapping, by an Access Point (AP), a plurality of applications to a set of privilege groups for Quality of Service (QoS) levels in a network; transmitting the mapping of the privilege groups to a client device; receiving packets from the client device including QoS markers; and in response to determining that the QoS markers received from the client device do not match the privilege groups for the packets, performing a corrective action on the client device, wherein the corrective action includes one or more of: disassociating the client device from the network; and retransmitting the set of privilege groups to the client device. In some embodiments, the privilege groups are transmitted before the client device is associated with the AP, enabling the client device to select what AP to associate with based on the privilege groups.

    Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a virtual mobility anchor network element to receive, from a packet gateway (PGW) node, a request for an internet protocol (IP) address for a mobile device, establish an IP address for the mobile device; and provide the IP address to the PGW node in response to the request for the IP address for the mobile device. The virtual mobility anchor network element is configured to receive IP traffic from a network location; determine a target destination for the IP traffic based on a destination IP address, the destination IP address comprising the second IP address; and forward the IP traffic to the PGW node associated with the destination IP address. The virtual mobility anchor network element is also configured to receive IP traffic from the PGW node; determine a target destination for the IP traffic; and route the IP traffic to the target destination.
