They may be employed as antisoiling and/or antiredeposition agents and optionally detergents in detergent compositions, in rinsing, softening or antisoiling treatment compositions, for washing with or without pretreatment, rinsing, softening or the antisoiling treatment of textiles, especially those polyester-based.

Hydrosoluble/hydrodispersible polyester copolycondensates, well suited for the sizing of textile threads, comprise terephthalate, isophthalate, sulfoaryl dicarboxylate, ethylene glycol and polyoxyethylene glycol recurring structural units, have a glass transition temperature ranging from 15.degree. to 40.degree. C. at 85% relative humidity and the turbidity of aqueous formulations thereof are storage-stable over time; such polyester copolycondensates are conveniently prepared by (i) transesterifying admixture of dimethyl terephthalate, dimethyl sulfoaryl dicarboxylate and ethylene glycol, (ii) introducing isophthalic acid and an additional amount of ethylene glycol into the medium of transesterification and therein directly esterifying same, and (iii) polycondensing the resulting product of transesterification/direct esterification.

Detergent formulation for washing laundry characterized in that it comprises: from about 10 to 80% of its weight of at least one hydrated zeolite (z) of formula xNa.sub.2 O.yAl.sub.2 O.sub.3.zSiO.sub.2.wH.sub.2 O in which, if y=1, x is from about 0.7 to 1.1, z is from about 1.3 to 3.3 and w is from about 10 to 264 from about 0.005 to 5%, of its weight of a least one polyalkylene terephthalate-polyoxyalkylenebisurethane (PET-UPOEU) copolymeric nonionic or anionic anti-soiling agent, said copolymer being obtained by reaction of a polyalkylene terephthalate (PET) and a polyoxyalkylnebisurethane (UPOEU), the molar ratio of the NCO functions to all of the OH functions or OH function equivalents being from about 0.5 to 1, from about 3 to 40%, of its weight of a least one saturated C.sub.5 -C.sub.24, aliphatic or hydroxyaliphatic alkyl sulphate anionic surfactant (FAS) optionally condensed with approximately 0.5 to 30 mol of ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide, optionally, up to 15% of its weight of a nonionic surfactant, it not being possible for more than 5% by weight of the said detergent formulation to consist of an alkylbenzenesulphonate. It has been observed that this PET-UPOEU type of anti-soiling agent, present in low amount in detergent compositions based on zeolite and aliphatic alkyl sulphate, has advantageous anti-soiling properties.

A soil-repellent agent comprising at least one unit with a cationic function (MC) capable of being absorbed onto the surface of the cotton, and the counter-ion thereof, as well as at least one hydrophobic unit (MH) containing at least four carbon atom chemically bonded to the unit having said cationic function (MC) via an oligomeric, polymeric or copolymeric vinyl alcohol chain, is also disclosed.

Such agents are used for laundering cellulosic fabrics such as cotton, to compensate for gradual loss of fibrous material on repeated washing. Preferred rebuild agents are cellulose monoacetate, cellulose hemisuccinate and other cellulose esters.
