    摘要： A heterocyclic aluminum compound of the formula ##EQU1## wherein n is 1 or 2. When n is 1, Z is --CH=CH--. When n is 2, Z is either --(CH.sub.2).sub.m wherein m is 0-6, or a heteroatom selected from --O--, --S--, >SO, >SO.sub.2 or >N--COR' where R' is an aliphatic hydrocarbon of 1-17 carbon atoms, --(CH.sub.2).sub.q --C.sub.6 H.sub.5 where q is 0 or 1, styryl, diphenyl methyl or phenyl optionally substituted by chlorine, fluorine, methyl and alkoxy having 1-4 carbon atoms. The compound can be prepared by reacting isopropyl aluminate with an .omega.-diol of the formula ##EQU2## wherein Z has the meaning given above and then reacting the resulting product with dry HCl or an acyl chloride of the formula R'--COCl wherein R' has the meaning given above. The heterocyclic aluminum compound exhibits antiperspirant activity. It can be used in cosmetic antiperspirant compositions comprising a cosmetic vehicle and about 0.2-30 weight percent thereof based on the weight of said composition.

    摘要： A magnetic confinement arrangement for confining plasma in a fusion reactor. The confinement arrangement comprises fixed coils disposed around and equidistantly distributed along an outer surface of a confinement chamber in a toroidal configuration, and pairs of overlapping pivotable coils equidistantly distributed along the outer surface of the confinement chamber. Each coil of the pairs is disposed around the outer surface in a substantially toroidal configuration. The pivotable coils a same pair are mounted about a common pivot axis transverse to a channel of the confinement chamber. The fixed coils produce a primary confinement of the plasma and the pivotable coils produce a secondary confinement of the plasma which is adjustable by varying an angle between the pivotable coils of a given pair.

    摘要： N-oxypyridyl derivative selected from the group consisting ofA. a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein the sulfur atom is attached to the N-oxypyridyl nucleus in a position ortho or para to the NO group, and R.sub.1 represents hydrogen, --COR.sub.2 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.2 wherein R.sub.2 is alkyl having 1-4 carbon atoms, phenyl or tolyl;B. the metal complex of the compound in (a) when R.sub.1 is hydrogen; andC. the metal salt of the compound in (a) when R.sub.1 is --COR.sub.2 or --SO.sub.2 R.sub.2.These derivatives are usefully employed in compositions for application to the hair, scalp or skin in order to combat the greasy and unaesthetic appearance of the hair and scalp and to counteract the formation of body odors of skin. The composition includes the said derivative of pyridine together with an appropriate carrier including, for instance, water, lower alkanol, an aqueous solution of a lower alkanol, a detergent and a cosmetic powder. The said derivative of pyridine can be included in such compositions in amounts ranging from about 0.01-10 percent by weight thereof.
